NOTE: Since the following series of Articles were published in
Despatch during 1994-1995, Don Stanton has apparently ceased to
heavily confront these Issues in his "Prophetic Alert", he has not to
our knowledge changed his position, but continues with it in the
"Tishrei" Series in conjunction with Clifford Denton of the U.K.
We know from recent trip in Australia 1999, thst he is still taking a
Jewish Roots Position.
Most people who receive "Prophetic Alert" do not seem to also get the
"Tishrei" booklets. It is not now an issue with Despatch, though we
are very concerned with the matter as a whole because of the
tremendous increase in Messianic Judaism through out the world. So we
have published them on Internet to try and alert others to the dangers
addressed in Despatch during the above period.

Extract ..Vol.6:2 (June, 1994)
The following article began an on-going series of exposes and
exhortations to the Body of Christ ...the last`Despatch' Extract being
Dec., 1995. Vol. 7:4. * Despatch has since this time examined many of
the Tishrei Booklets sent to us by our subscribers, we have been
greatly disturbed by their content re alteration of fundamental
doctrine.
The Messianic Jewish Apostasy is now taking in the Toronto Blessing
and Latter Rain, as well as liaising with the Kingdom Now
Movement...this will also be covered in an Integrity Ministries
article from Pudsey, U.K.(not published in Despatch as it is only
recently come to hand...not yet ready for inclusion here.)
Tishrei...Don Stanton...A Letter... to the Maranatha Revival
Crusade...India
The Christian author of B. G., had sent `Despatch' a copy of his
letter to Don Stanton of `Maranatha Revival Crusade. The letter
challenges, strongly, the change in emphasis and doctrine which has
been evident in recent months in the ministry of MRC.
This emphasis, it appears, originated from the Tishrei group, which
seeks to "explore the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.."
I quote from the letter by B. G....
"There is much truth in Tishrei, but even more error which will lead
straight into the occult teachings of the New Age/Cabalistic
deception. The deception of Tishrei is diabolical, in that, purporting
to uphold the integrity of Holy Writ within its pages, Tishrei is
nothing more than an attempt to synthesis the word of God with
satanically inspired writings, such as the Talmud, The Shepherd of
Hermas and the Epistle of Barnabas." "Your attempts at uniting
Christianity with Pharisaicism will cause spiritual suicide among
believers in Jesus Christ...."
Don Stanton has always been a most courageous, sound defender of the
faith, who has revealed the deceptions of the N.W.O. for many years,
when others have been asleep!
His recent meetings in Australia sere scripturally correct and
inspiring, by all reports. It is puzzling and sad to see this strange
"Jewishness" overtaking his ministry. Something NEW has been added,
obviously by Tishrei!.
[Also there is much concern, about his growing interest in O.B.E. [Out
of Body Experiences] ,
this has been noticed at some of the above mentioned meetings.]

The six pointed Star, is it the Star of David?
Dear reader, have you noticed the strong move to merge Christianity
into Judaism?
If you have not, we pray this issue of Despatch will make you aware. A
recent issue of a Christian newsletter, sent from an organization
which has been building bridges to the Jewish people for many years,
stated that the STAR OF DAVID was the most Christian symbol a believer
could wear!This is not so.
The SIX POINTED STAR is actually a New Age occult symbol.
QUESTIONS ??? We should ask about this Star are:
Is this star the Star of Solomon - not the star of David?
Is it an occult symbol, not a Christian Symbol?
Is it the sign of the New World Order under Lucifer?
Facts about the Six Pointed Star:
It has an amazing background, right back into ages past.
It is forbidden as a symbol, by the Word of God.
It may be the MARK OF THE BEAST
( I say MAY BE - we don't know. Remember that the Bible tells us in
Revelation 13:17 that there will be the mark, or the name of the
beast, or the number of his name).

HERE IS A SUMMARY OF information on the HEXAGRAM, or six-pointed star
and elements which bear relationship to our subject...
The star was mentioned and condemned by the God of Israel in Amos 5:26
and it was called by Him, `the star of your god, Moloch' or otherwise
called `Chiun'. Reference to Amos 5:26 and the Israelites having it in
the wilderness was also made in Acts 7:43. Here it was called the Star
of Remphan. All these names refer to the `god' Saturn.
The foregoing verifies that it was therefore in existence long before
the time of Solomon. He took this symbol upon himself when he went
into idolatry, and it became known as the `Seal of Solomon' in Arabic
magic and witchcraft.
There was no usage of it in Jewish circles until the 17th century when
the cabalist, Isaac Luria, introduced it in Germany.
Mayer Amschel Bauer then used it in Germany to identify his address,
consequently changing his family name to Rothschild, meaning `Red
Shield', and depicting the red hexagram hanging on his door. He later
incorporated it into his family coat of arms.
The six-pointed star or hexagram became the insignia of Zionism.
Hitler rose to power, using it as a badge of shame, forcing all Jews
to wear it during the Nazi regime.
It arrived at the Knesset of the newly formed State of Israel.
It became the logo of the Jewish `Red Cross' called the Magen David
Adom.
It became the centerpiece on the flag of Israel.
Surreptitiously, it has become the international symbol of the Jewish
people and saturates the world as the Jewish Star.
The Hexagram is 666.
The hexagram, or six pointed star, certainly has three sixes. It
contains a six, within a six, within a six: 666. (Count the sides of
each triangle facing the clockwise direction, the sides facing the
counter-clockwise direction, and the third six - the sides of the
inner hexagon).
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and
they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image,
and whosoever receiveth THE MARK OF HIS NAME. (Revelation 14:11).
In the book ANCIENT PAGAN SYMBOLS,
the hexagram is called Solomon's Seal, not David's.
It says...
"The triangle, the geometrical emblem of three things, one above two,
the two lower uniting to produce the higher, or the union of the
positive and negative forces to produce the third, is the most complex
and mystical as it is the most UNCOMPROMISING of all symbols.
....Three has been called the very soul of magic, astrology and
divination." 1.
The book goes on to talk about the Hindu triad, the Buddhist triad and
others, but here we draw the line on the details.
Solomon's Seal was accepted as occult by the occult world. King
Solomon became involved in witchcraft and occultism. (Although Solomon
was greatly used of the Almighty God).
According to THE SORCERER'S HANDBOOK -
"King Solomon, traditionally known as an ARCH MAGICIAN [author's
italics], used a SPELL [author's italics] to banish infernal beings
sent by the king of demons to EXTRACT HUMAN HEARTS . . . [The names of
the demons are then given.]" 2.
"Solomon's Mirror. A mirror used for divination". It is described and
they go into what is done with the blood of A PIGEON.
In the book THE HISTORY AND PRACTICE OF MAGIC, Vol. 2, the six-pointed
star is called the talisman of Saturn. It is illustrated obverse and
reverse. The latter is the Seal of Solomon; the former is the five
pointed star, commonly called the pentagram. Details are given on how
to make these symbols and the materials to use. 2.

The insignia of the Globalists, Cabalism, the Rothschilds and Zionism

SHOULD CHRISTIANS WEAR THE SIX POINTED STAR, THE HEXAGRAM?
SURELY NOT! TO DO SO IS AN ABOMINATION TO OUR GOD!
At the time of publication of the book, "The Six Pointed Star", by
O.J. GRAHAM, in the 1980's, these figures were given. 30% of the Jews
living in Israel were not religious at all, even atheists. Of the
remaining 70%, the majority were religious only formally, few were
deeply committed. O.J. Graham, himself of Jewish ancestry, now a
Christian journalist writes...
"The Jewish Almanac does not explain which Jews decided to make the
six-pointed star the symbol of Jewry, nor does it state when such a
vote took place.
Some Jews will have nothing to do with this symbol; others do not care
to check it out. The majority of people could not care less. Some are
shocked to learn it is pagan, but do not think that the matter is
important."
What then is the Real Symbol of the Hebrew People?
The number seven, not the number six is God's perfect number. The
symbol given to God's chosen race, as far back as Exodus is the
Menorah, or seven branched candle-stick.
Read all about this Menorah, which played such a vital role in the
Tabernacle and was placed in the Holy Place in Exodus 25. More verses
about the Menorah are, 1 Kings 7:49; 11 Chronicles 4:7. Also in the
New Testament, Matthew 5:15 ; Rev. 1, 2 & 19:16.

The JEW, the GENTILE & Biblical Prophesy.
A huge ground swell of Jewishness is rising from the depths of
organized Christendom. It is coming in a number of forms. The Bible,
however, has doctrines which are totally opposed to these Jewish
teachings.
What DOES the Bible reveal to us about THE JEW, THE GENTILE &
PROPHESY?
Have the Christians got JEWISH ROOTS which they should Return to?
The above statement is being made in a quite a few Christian magazines
and books these days. What does the Bible say? This is the only thing
one needs to know about this Jewish Roots concept!
Does the Bible say that the root of the Christian Church is Judaism?
Not at all, definitely NO. If the reader will spent but a few moments
reading ROMANS chapter eleven, it will be very clear that the ROOT and
THE TREE of both the Christians AND the Jew is CHRIST JESUS Himself.
What a glory this is.
The passage starts off in verse one by showing that God has not cast
away the Jewish nation forever. Hath God cast away his people? God
forbid....
In verses seven to twelve God reveals that Israel is temporarily set
aside, but not on a permanent basis. These verses show that through
their `fall' , salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to
jealousy. (The Jews, that is, v.11).
The Christians who came from the Gentiles are told that Israel's
blindness is only in part in verse 25, until the fullness of the
Gentiles be come in. This fullness of the Gentiles refers to the
completion of God's purpose in gathering THE CHURCH, an outcalling of
a Gentile people for His name, the church which is his body. (Eph.
1:22-23). This should be carefully distinguished from the times of the
Gentiles, which refers to the end of Gentile NATION rule on the earth,
and the NATION of Israel taking up its place as head nation on the
earth (Luke 21:24). The times of the Gentiles began with the captivity
of Judah under Nebuchadnezzar (11 Chr.36:1-21).
The answer to our question does the Bible say that the root of the
Christian Church is Judaism? is found in Romans eleven verses fifteen
to twenty four.
Here we see three important symbols.
The first is ............THE GOOD OLIVE TREE;
The second is .......THE WILD OLIVE TREE;
The third is ...........THE NATURAL BRANCHES.
The Bible says that Israel is a natural branch which because of
unbelief they were broken off. The Gentile Church is referred as the
wild olive tree, graffed or grafted into the good olive tree, which is
also THE ROOT of both!
What then is THE GOOD OLIVE TREE and also THE ROOT?
A question which needs to be addressed. THE GOOD OLIVE TREE has always
been CHRIST HIMSELF! God promised that through Abraham's seed all
families of the earth would be blessed. (Gen. 12:3; Gal.: 36-9).In
verse 24 of Romans 8, we can clearly see that the natural branches
cannot be broken off, yet still remain THE GOOD OLIVE TREE - all at
the same time!
THE ROOT OF CHRISTIANITY is CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD, promised to the
whole world through the line of Abraham. (Read the genealogy in
Matthew chapter one). Christ Jesus is also the GOOD OLIVE TREE for
Israel as well! "ROOTED and built up in him, and stablished in the
faith...". (Colossians 2:7). THE Olive Tree is a symbol of Israel's
religious privileges, yes, but the ROOT and FATNESS of the GOOD OLIVE
TREE shows the seed of Abraham, the Lord Jesus Christ. HE IS
CHRISTIANITY'S ROOT, not Judaism.
Should Christians keep... Jewish Festivals & The Sabbath?
It would appear very evident that something strange is happening!
Christians are being led to believe that they should keep THE SABBATH,
and RETURN TO KEEPING JEWISH FEASTS, such as THE PASSOVER, THE FEAST
of TRUMPETS, THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES, and to keep THE JUBILEES and so
on. T
he Bible shows clearly that THIS IS DISHONORING TO OUR LORD JESUS
CHRIST! Do you love the Lord, then honor HIM, for He is the fulfilment
of all these Old Testament Jewish types and shadows.
The Sabbath was a SIGN of the MOSAIC COVENANT, which we are no longer
under. The Sabbath was for Israel only. It was said unto them,
"Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy," (Ex.20:8). "Verily my
Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a SIGN between me and you THROUGH
YOUR GENERATIONS." (Ex. 31:13; Ezek. 20: 12, 19-21. Compare Galatians
4:9-11; Col.2:16.) Christians meet on THE EIGHTH DAY, as prefigured in
Leviticus 23:10-11. DAY AFTER THE SABBATH. In this passage, the
first-fruits typify Christ Jesus. See 1 Corinthians 15:20. Jesus rose
from the dead, not on the Sabbath, but on THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK,
on the MORROW AFTER THE SABBATH. (Read John 20:1,19; Acts 20:7; 1 Cor.
16:2).
Should Christians keep... The Ceremonial Law?
The Feasts of the Old Testament were a part of the Jewish ceremonial
law, which are all fulfilled in Christ Jesus. To RETURN to keeping
these ceremonies would be an insult, a dishonoring of THE SUBSTANCE,
which is CHRIST, and to bring in an honoring of THE SHADOW.
What is the Passover Feast in typology?
It is type of our Passover Lamb, the Lamb of God, who shed His Blood
on Calvary. The Jewish feast was a memorial of the redemption and
deliverance of the Children of Israel from Egypt. The Jews still keep
the Passover. Christians do not, we observe THE MEMORIAL OF THE
SUBSTANCE, CHRIST DYING FOR THE SIN OF THE WORLD. OUR memorial is not
the shadow, we keep the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, as instituted
by Christ Himself, in place of the Passover Feast.
What is the Feast of Trumpets in typology?
This fell on a Sabbath Day, at the time of the new moon, the first day
of the seventh month. This feast ushers in the Jewish New Year. During
the wilderness journey of the Jewish people, as recorded in the Old
Testament, two silver trumpets were blown for calling of the Assembly,
and for the journeyings of the Camps. Num. 10:1-10. This typifies the
regathering of Israel at the Second Coming of Christ. The Christian
Church will not be regathered, she will be Raptured. Many believe that
The feast of Trumpets will coincide with the Rapture of the Church,
but NO WHERE does scripture indicate that this feast is CHRISTIAN. The
SUBSTANCE is, CHRIST's Second Coming - "with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God." ( 1 Thess. 4:16).
Read carefully the twenty third chapter of the Book of Leviticus for
an account of the SEVEN GREAT FEASTS OF THE LORD. Then read carefully
Colossians 2: 16,17, to see that Christ is the body or substance of
these feasts. (holyday means feast day).
What is the Feast of Tabernacles in typology?
This harvest home celebration is Jewish, not Christian! This feast
points forward to the time when ISRAEL will have Millennial Rest. The
Antitype has not yet appeared, but it has to do with the Lord God's
dealing with the NATION OF ISRAEL in the restored earth of the
Millennial reign of Christ. It is a SABBATIC REST of the millennial
age, or a thousand years, in relation to the other six thousand years
of the world's history. Heaven and Earth will be in close union, BUT,
the Christian Church will have put on immortality, they will have
become like Christ. (1 Peter 1:3-5).
We do not keep the Feast of Tabernacles because the Christian Church
is NOT the nation Israel, who will rest in the earthly paradise as a
NATION under the Throne of David, ruled by Christ! WE will be þkings
and priestsþ in Christ with quite a different service and future! (See
1 Peter 2:5; Revelation 1:6.) ISRAEL as a nation under the Throne of
David, is shown in many passages, including Isaiah 9:6-7; Davidic
Covenant~ 11 Sam. 7:16; Acts 15:14-16.
Should the Christian Church Build Bridges
between themselves & the Jews?
God has given the Church one duty towards the Jews, to preach the
Gospel. We should pray for Israel, but we can NEVER neglect the
salvation of souls! The Gospel is for Jew, Gentile, Male, Female,
Bond, Free, Black and White! NO MAN cometh unto the Father, except
through Christ Jesus. Dare the Christians refuse to preach the Gospel
to precious souls for fear of offending them? Or are we ashamed of the
Gospel of Christ? If building bridges means making friends and not
preaching Christ, IT IS WRONG to do so! (we know of a pastor who was
refused permission to go to Israel with a group because he said he
would preach the gospel to them if God lead him to.)
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of
God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and
also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16).
Do the Jews come to God by a special way that does not involve
trusting in Christ Jesus' shed Blood? NO! There is no salvation in any
other name! (Acts 4:12).
Should Christians give money to re-build - The Temple in Jerusalem?
Now, to say a thing about this growing practice amongst Christians is
to court fury and cries of anti-semitic! Despatch is NOT ANTI-SEMITIC,
we recognize the glorious future that God has for the Jewish people,
the place of Israel in scripture, and the Chosen Race position that
the Israelis have before the Lord! We also know that scripture
declares that Israel will accept the false þMessiahþ, who is really
the antichrist! Israel will sign a seven year covenant with this false
Messiah, he will break it after three and a half years. THEN, this
Messiah who is really the Son of Perdition will use the newly built
temple in Jerusalem as a world centre of worship to HIMSELF! This
creature of horror, who is Satan incarnate!
In the Millennium, there will be another temple, a NEW TEMPLE
altogether, built for the Reign of Christ.
(See scriptures on THE MILLENNIAL TEMPLE, Ezekiel 40:1-47:12. The
ANTICHRIST sets up a false worship in an earlier Temple, BEFORE the
Ezekiel temple, Daniel 9:27. This is the little horn of 7:8. In the
middle of the week of years, antichrist forcibly puts an end to all
Jewish worship, and introduces abominations which render the sanctuary
desolate. Scripture itself interprets this in Matthew 24:15. Compare
Mark 13:14-18; Luke 21:20-23)
Should Christians give money to build the Temple in Jerusalem?
That is your personal decision to make!
But be sure that you realize that the Temple will house the
abomination of desolation, and Lucifer will have a field-day in it in
the near future!

The Mosaic Law ~should Christians keep it?
We do NOT believe that Christians must return to the Mosaic Law as a
basis for righteousness in the Church Age. NEVER have I personally
been taught, or have read, of any solid Biblically based fundamental
who held this doctrine, it is a departure from the New Testament
faith. Also the doctrine which teaches that the Mosaic Law should be
used by the Gentile nations is NOT scripturally correct. This is
mixing law and grace in a most unsound manner, a very dangerous
doctrine, as the Reconstructionists are also doing the same. I believe
that the antichrist system will be extremely JEWISH, in a false sense.
The book, Harvest by Rick Joyner (a compromiser with the New Agers, by
the way), stresses that Israel and the Church will become one loaf and
take dominion over the planet, for example. The One World Church will
join all in syn-cretism, the Noahide Laws of the orthodox Jews are
already playing a massive role in the set-up of the N.W.O.

The World Council of Churches is becoming immensely Jewish, even
wanting to have a Year of Jubilee, and keep the Sabbath. CONSTANCE
CUMBEY, has written in her book, A PLANNED DECEPTION, of the Year of
Jubilee. Here is a quote from that book which shows the strange
relationship between the New Age and the Old Testament religious laws:
"...a teaching which indeed did parallel the Aquarian teaching of the
Age of Aquarius - the Old Testament Year of Jubilee, as well as the
Feast of Tabernacles. The Year of Jubilee paralleled the
redistribution of the world's wealth. The Feast of Tabernacles was the
equivalent of the coming together of the World's peoples and varied
religions under one tent or tabernacle - the equivalent of the New
Ager's long-awaited New World Religion." (p.172).
Cumbey comments on page 169 about the LAW of RECIPROCITY of Pat
Robertson, which is also Fabian Socialism, and a version of the Year
of Jubilee. On page 175, Cumbey urges the Christians to stand fast in
LIBERTY: "Are Christians under the Law of the Year of Jubilee or any
other Jewish law? Indeed, Galatians chapter 5 tells us an emphatic no
with the added proviso that if we bring ourselves again under the Law
we are fallen from grace. For the sake of our future freedoms, Paul's
advice is the best advice. STAND FAST IN THE LIBERTY WHEREBY CHRIST
HAS SET YOU FREE."
We are never, as Christians, sanctified by keeping the law. If we were
not justified by keeping the Law why would we be sanctified by keeping
the Law? We entered by One Way, and we proceed by the same Way. God
said that we must never weave together wool and linen. Why? Because
wool is obtained by shedding of blood and linen is obtained by man's
planting. (Deut. 22:11). God has only one working principle in the
Church Age - Grace in Christ Jesus.
If we are not under the Law, that does not mean that we are lawless.
In regard to sanctification the Bible says in Romans 6:14:
"Sin shall not have dominion over you; for you are not under law but
under grace."
Law is only God's commandment, but Grace is the power of God. Christ
is the end of the Law, because he satisfied all the demands of the Law
in Himself. Christ put an end to the Law by His death, because the Law
had the penalty of death within it, and Christ died according to the
demands of the Law. He concludes the Law. We Christians are married to
another.
The Mosaic Law was set aside at the dispersion in 70 A.D. (The Temple,
which was used for Mosaic law sacrifice, was destroyed then, by
Titus). It will not come to the fore again until the tribulation
period. It was given to ISRAEL, not to the Gentile nations. (Many
quotes from reputable Bible scholars could be put in here, as proof of
the respectability and soundness of what I am writing).
"Except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the
scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of
heaven."
It surely does not mean that Christians must return to the Law of
Moses - not the ceremonial law, or the moral law. A Christian does not
enter the Kingdom of Heaven by keeping ANY law, CHRIST Himself filled
up the law by His perfect substitutionary Life and death. By God's
grace, HIS righteousness is imputed to our account. But, your
righteousness refers to our own, progressive righteousness also,
received from the Lord Himself (1 Cor. 1: 30-31). Our standard, in the
Church Age, is much higher than the scribes and pharisees, it is the
New in Christ Jesus, not the old.
What about Matthew 5:18,
"...till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in
way pass away from the law , till all things be accomplished."
In verse 20 Christ Jesus told His disciples that the law must be
fulfilled in HIM. Must Christians then keep the law? No, they are
under Grace.
If we say we must keep part of the Mosaic Law, then we are obliged to
keep THE WHOLE of it! Christ fulfilled all the ceremonial laws in
Himself, they were but a shadow of Christ and His death. Galatians
5:2,3 makes it very plain that we cannot continue on the law path any
more, or we will end up as indebted to the Law.
"I, Paul, say unto you, that if you receive circumcision, Christ will
profit you nothing. Yea, I testify again to every man that receiveth
circumcision, that he is a debtor to do THE WHOLE LAW."
We are now in a new dispensation! The Church is a parenthesis between
the Age of Law, and the Time of Jacob's Trouble. Not just in regard to
being saved, but in regard to our Christian walk as well. We, in
Christ, have God's nature indwelling us; the ten commandments are all
repeated, excepting for the Sabbath keeping, in the New Testament
instructions for the Church ; we Christians have a much higher, more
loving, Spirit-filled Life to manifest.
We cannot support the concept of the reconstructionists who insist
that the Mosaic Law (all of it) should be over the constitutions of
the nations of the globe! We have mixed in other days with
Dominionists, and they intend to restructure society, enforcing the
Mosaic Law, even to the stoning laws, the death penalty for
disobedient children, the death penalty for adultery, they want to
enforce the death penalty for women who have abortions, enforcing
worship of God etc., etc.
This is the understanding that fundamentalists have taught through the
time I have been a Christian:
We are neither JUSTIFIED by keeping the Law, or SANCTIFIED by keeping
the Law. We must not teach salvation by law, nor sanctification by the
law, bringing people again into bondage to law, when we are DEAD to it
altogether! Surely Romans 7 teaches this! Just to mention verse 6
alone, "But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead in
which we were held, that we should SERVE IN NEWNESS OF SPIRIT AND NOT
IN THE OLDNESS OF THE LETTER".
What about verse 4?
"Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the
body of Christ, that ye should be married to another, even to him who
is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God."
No more works of the law, but a life in the Spirit under the law of
Christ, fruit of the very Life of Christ lived out through us.
THE TEST OF THE GOSPEL IS GRACE.
This fearful comment was made by Scofield, which must be said... "If
the message excludes grace, or mingles law with grace as the means
either of justification OR SANCTIFICATION (Galatians 2:21; 3:1-3), or
denies the fact or guilt of sin which alone gives grace its occasion
or opportunity, it is another gospel, and the preacher of it is under
the anathema of God."The New Testament message on salvation and the
Christian walk is very different indeed to the Old Testament. The book
of Hebrews keeps saying þbetter thingsþ than the old, doesn't it?
Hebrews 10 shows from verse 1 on to verse 18 that the new Christian
way is better, right on to, "I will put my laws into their hearts, and
in their minds will I write them". (Read also Matthew 5:43-48).
Acts 15 does not stress a message that should go to the Churches to
encourage Gentiles to begin to meditate on God's O.T. laws! As some
are contending now, in these days of the Great Falling Away. Verses 19
and 24 clearly show that just the opposite was intended.
The discussion is, are the Gentile believers under the law, not for
salvation, just are they UNDER THE LAW to live by it.
"Wherefore, my judgement (sentence) is, that we trouble not them, who
from the Gentiles are turned to God; Forasmuch as we have heard that
certain who went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting
your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, AND KEEP THE LAW, to whom
WE GAVE NO SUCH COMMAND," The passage was about more than
circumcision, it was about not being offensive to believing Jews, to
show love and understanding toward them (vv. 20-21; 28-29; Rom.
14:12-17; 1 Cor. 8:1-13).
THE BODY OF CHRIST MUST PREACH REPENTANCE &
THE REMISSION OF SINS IN CHRIST'S NAME -
BEGINNING AT JERUSALEM.
For those who hear the message of the return of the Messiah without
the preaching of repentance and remission of sins there is every
possibility that when the Antichrist appears on the world scene that
they will embrace him as their Messiah. Sadly there are those who are
calling the Lord Jesus Christ THE MESSIAH, when He is THE SAVIOUR of
all men who turn to Him. He is NOT the Christians Messiah, He is
Saviour and Lord.
That Jesus Christ is Ha Mashiach - the Anointed One - could have only
one application - and that is to Israel, not to any gentile or gentile
nation. The writings of the Old Testament Prophets, particularly
Isaiah foretell of the promised Messiah. (Isa.7:14; 9:6&7; 11:1&2.)
Note Isa.9:7 - the throne of David, also mentioned in Revelation
22:16.
To the Jew, He is their Messiah - the Son of God; to the Jew and
Gentile believer in the Lord Jesus Christ's finished work on the cross
- we are His bride. Israel - in the main- is still looking for the
appearing of their conquering Messiah, whereas we, as the bride are
looking for our Bridegroom.
We should never allow ourselves to be drawn back under the mantle of
Jewish folly and still be looking for the Messiah.
In Romans 8:15 the Apostle Paul explains -
"For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father."
ABBA, FATHER - Paul employs these two words - Syriac and Greek - the
one taken from the language in use among the Jews, the other from that
of the Gentiles - to show that there is no longer any distinction
between the Jew and the Greek, and that all believers, in every
nation, may address God as their Father in their own language.
Therefore, if we are Australian, German, Russian, Indian or Jewish
Christians, we are co-heirs with Christ, by adoption and certainly He
is not our Y'shua Ha Mashiach, but in our language in which we were
born - Jesus Christ, in the case of English speaking nations. The
Anointed One has come to His own, but his own received him not. (John
1:11), He has done the works His Father sent Him to do and is now
seated in glory at His Father's right hand until the church is
completed.
We cannot sever our Hebrew/Jewish roots because we, as gentiles -
never had any. The covenant made with Abraham in Genesis 17:4-6 -
"As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a
father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called
Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations
have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will
make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee." Then in V.19
-
"And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou
shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish MY COVENANT WITH HIM
for an ever-lasting covenant, and with his seed after him."
Abraham was a gentile - the first Jew was Isaac and only those who can
trace their genealogy back to Isaac and Jacob can qualify as true
Israelites. We, as Jew and Gentile Christians have been adopted into
God's family and have no need to sever any roots because that was
accomplished at the Cross -old things have passed away - all things
have been made new - new creatures in Jesus Christ.
LAW AND GRACE.
Few Christians are familiar with this topic. Those that have heard of
law and grace tend to put it into the category of a stale theological
subject. Nothing could be further from the truth! Law and grace is
something that we are living every day, whether we know it or not. Law
and grace involves how we are approaching our entire Christian lives,
and the effects are far-reaching and profound.
Let's clarify the issue. In the simplest of terms, this is what law
and grace is all about: LAW AND GRACE IS THE ISSUE OF GOD'S
ACCEPTANCE. In other words, on what basis is a man made acceptable to
God? There are only three possible answers. Man is made (or tries to
make himself) acceptable to God by law, by grace, or by a third,
hybrid means called Galatianism. Let's look at each of them in turn.
LAW.
Man is responsible to MAKE HIMSELF acceptable to God by his work. You
are accepted by God according to what you do or don't do. You can
easily identify law by the presence of a small two-letter word: IF. IF
you do this, then God will accept you. Obviously the opposite must
also be true: If you don't, He won't.God's special relationship with
the nation of Israel, called the Old Covenant or the law, began with
this condition:Now IF YOU OBEY ME FULLY AND KEEP MY COVENANT, then out
of all nations you will be My treasured possession. Although the whole
earth is Mine, you will be for Me a kingdom of priests and a holy
nation. (Exodus 19:5,6). (Sounds like a marriage vow doesn't it?)
GRACE
God gives to man a standing of total acceptance as a GIFT through
Jesus Christ. Man's work in no way contributes to God's acceptance of
him. Once Jesus was asked,
"What must we do to do the works God requires?" Jesus answered,
"The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent." (John
6:28,29).
BY FAITH AND FAITH ALONE A MAN
RECEIVES THE GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IN CHRIST:
"It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, WHO HAS BECOME FOR
US wisdom from God - that is, OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, HOLINESS, AND
REDEMPTION" (1 Corinthians 1:30).
Ephesians 2:8,9 is as direct a statement as you can find in the Bible:
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and it is not
from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one
can boast."
GALATIANISM.
The attempt to mingle law and grace. Galatianism takes many forms, but
sooner or later it always ends up in a meaningless contradiction:
"God's grace has made it possible for man to WORK FOR His acceptance
and forgiveness or God loves us unconditionally IF we keep all the
rules." Law is the realm of what you EARN by your performance. Grace
is the realm of receiving a FREE GIFT. How could you ever mingle the
two?
While there were some general purposes of the law of Moses, such as to
provide civil laws without which no society can function, its most
important purposes relate to leading men to salvation.
First...THE LAW DEFINES SIN.
Romans 4:15 says
"....where there is no law there is no transgression'.
In other words, you can't break a law that doesn't exist. Policemen
couldn't pull you over and give you a ticket for speeding if the state
did not have published and posted speed-limit laws. That's why
Romans 5:13 says,
"For before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not
taken into account when there is no law."
Second... THE LAW CONVICTS MEN OF THEIR GUILT
AND NEED FOR SALVATION.
The question is, Who will ever come to a Saviour? The answer: only
someone who knows he needs to be saved. The major purpose for which
God gave the law was to convince men of their lost condition so that
they would be prepared to accept Jesus Christ as Saviour.
It is very surprising to many people to discover that THE PURPOSE OF
THE LAW WAS NEVER TO MAKE A MAN RIGHT WITH GOD. All the law can do is
to declare a standard and condemn a person for failure. It's just like
a mirror. A mirror can show you that your face is dirty, but it cannot
wash your face for you.
Why did God give a law that would kill and condemn men? many people
ask. He did it to kill and condemn. When the law brings about death
and condemnation, it is doing its job. That's what it is SUPPOSED to
do. Because God is cruel? No! Because it is a necessary ministry to
bring us to the salvation given through Jesus Christ!
Galatians 3:23,24 puts it this way: Before this faith came, we were
held prisoners by the law, locked up until faith should be revealed.
SO THE LAW WAS PUT IN CHARGE TO LEAD US TO CHRIST that we might be
justified by FAITH.
Once we have come to this point, what further role does the law have
in our lives? None! It has done its job! Its purpose was to drive us
to Christ, and it has done so. "Now that faith has come, WE ARE NO
LONGER UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE LAW"[Galatians 3:25).
Question -
But aren't nine of the Ten Commandments restated in the New Testament?
The New Testament is full of commands. What is the difference between
those and being under the law?
Answer -
What we have to realise is that a law is not just a command. It is
always a command WITH A PENALTY ATTACHED. For example, the speed law
is not just 'You shall not drive over 55 miles per hour.' It is 'You
shall not drive over 55, and if you do, you will pay a fine of up to
$200.'
Right and wrong are still right and wrong because that is a reflection
of God's character, and He doesn't change. But the difference is this:
Under the law "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23); but
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ
Jesus" (Romans 8:1).
That's one reason why the commands in the New Testament are not laws.
The second reason is that we are not obeying those New Testament
commands in order to be accepted by God. Under LAW, a man works in
order to be accepted by God. Under GRACE, a man serves because he is
ALREADY accepted by God!
Under law you never experience peace or rest in the Christian life.
Why? Because your work is never done. A þspiritual restlessnessþ
results, where you are always looking for the þsomething moreþ that
will transform your Christian life into reality. It's always around
the corner: at the next seminar, in the next book, in finding that
spiritual EXPERIENCE - never resting in Christ Himself who lives in
you, who has already done it all, who has already given you everything
you need.
Have you ever heard anyone say...
"I've had it! I quit! I am sick to death of the love and grace of God.
I'm sick of other Christians loving and accepting me. I'm giving up
this Christian life".
However, you couldn't count the number of Christians who have given up
because of being under law, who have been broken by the crushing
burden of trying to be good enough to earn God's acceptance, who have
been mangled by the competition, the judging and the demands to
conform to some group's standards.
The love of God in our hearts produces a response that is as
irresistible as music to our bodies. Presenting our minds and bodies
to an indwelling Lord who loves us perfectly becomes a joy. The
Christian life doesn't feel unnatural when your mind is full of God's
grace; it feels truly natural for the first time.
This isn't to imply that there's no struggle or no need to exercise
our wills. The flesh continues to set its desire against the Spirit,
and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one
another, so that you may not do the things that you please (Galatians
5:17).
"But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire
of the flesh". (Galatians 5:16).
Notice that it didn't say that the desires of the flesh will go away.
As long as we live in fallen bodies, we will feel that influence. It
also didn't say þClean up the flesh, and then you'll be spiritual.þ It
seems that vast amounts of Christian teaching is saying this very
thing. It can never work.
You can work throughout your life and never get the flesh cleaned up.
Christ didn't come to improve the flesh; He came to execute it and to
give us new life. Trying to clean ourselves up is merely returning to
the law - the ultimate exercise in futility. God's love working in our
hearts deals with us on a level of sensitivity that neither the law
nor self-discipline can ever reach.
The law requires punishment which is imposed on an offender for a
crime or wrongdoing. It has retribution in view (paying someone back
what he deserves) rather than correction - isn't that the case with
our lawlessness today? More laws or putting society back under the Old
Testament Laws will not solve the problem.
Discipline on the other hand, is totally different. Discipline is
TRAINING that develops self-control, character and ability. It is
looking FORWARD to a beneficial result, is very PERSONAL, and is in
continuous exercise.
As we see lawlessness abounding and escalating in the world today with
all the cruelty, degradation and spiritual and physical poverty of
mankind, the stage is set for the appearance of The Lawless One. He
will bring in the ultimate slavery to the law in the mark of the
beast.
There is nothing NEW about the message of God's grace. When it is
shared straight and undiluted, it transforms lives in the same
dramatic way as it did in the early days after Pentecost. The problem
is not with the message, it is with US. WE have strayed away from the
fullness of Christ into modernism, religion and legalism.

What is the Jewish Talmud,
& can Christians use it as an Addition
to the Old Testament Scriptures?
The following brief comments on the Talmud have been researched from
the article from Biblical Fundamentalist, Feb. 15th, 1994. Aust.
The Talmud is believed by orthodox Jews to have been given by God to
Moses on Mt. Sinai. They are really oral laws handed down through the
centuries, right from Moses, to Christ and far beyond! The first and
original writings were named Mishnah. Later a commentary on the
Mishnah was produced called the Gemara . Now, both are called the
Talmud, the word Talmud means instruction.
Most Jews are not religious and know little about the shocking
teachings of the Talmud. Today the New Testament is banned in the
State of Israel, but the Talmud is declared by the religious Jews to
be from God, totally binding and authoritative. It is even higher in
authority than the Old Testament! There are two main Talmuds, the
Palestine Talmud and the second, the Babylonian Talmud, the latter
being the most authoritative in Rabbi eyes.
A FEW QUOTATIONS
DIRECTLY FROM THE BABYLONIAN TALMUD.
"...it will reveal WHY the clash between our Lord
and these rabbinical imposters and charlatans....".
RABBIS AND TALMUD ARE BELIEVED
TO BE GREATER THAN GOD.
"The commands of the Rabbis are more important than the commands of
the Bible..." (Erubin 21b. pp.149-150).
"God intervenes in a Rabbinical dispute and is logically defeated by a
Rabbi. God proclaims the Rabbi the victor in the debate." (Baba Mezia,
59b, p. 353).
"The Rabbis are greater than the prophets". (Baba Bathra, 12a,p.59).
WHAT ABOUT SALVATION IN THE TALMUD?
"Canaanites who live in Israel will have eternal life." (Kethuboth
111a, p.717).
"He who recites Psalm 145 three times a day will have eternal life."
(Pesahim 113a, p.582).
"Israel's sins were atoned for by the cloths of the high priest".
(Zebahim 88b, p.419).
"Living in the land of Israel gives one eternal life". (Pesahim 113a,
p582).
THE TALMUD AND JESUS AND MARY.
"Jesus was a bastard born of adultery." (Yebamoth 49b, p.324).
"Mary was a whore: Jesus (Balaam) was an evil man." (Sanhedrin 106a
&b, p.725).
"Jesus was a magician and a fool. Mary was an adulteress". (Shabbath
104b, p.504).
WHAT ABOUT THE TALMUD & THE CHRISTIANS?
"Christians are allied with Hell, and Christianity is worse than
incest". (Abodah Zarah 17a, p.85).
"WHEN MESSIAH COMES HE WILL DESTROY THE CHRISTIANS". (Sanhedrin
99a,p.668).
"Those who read the Gospels are doomed to Hell". (Sanhedrin 90a, 100b,
pp.601-602, 680).
THE TALMUD ON SEXUAL PERVERSION.
"It is permitted to have sexual intercourse with a girl three years
old and one day" (Sanhedrin 55b,p.376).
"...intercourse with a dead woman is apparently permissible".
(Yebamoth 55b, p.371).
"Sexual intercourse with a girl less than three is 'nothing'"
(Kethuboth 11b, p.58).
"If a man commits sodomy with a boy less than nine years old, they are
both guilty of sodomy" (Sanhedrin 54b, 55a, p.371).
OUR DUTY TO ISRAEL REMAINS THE SAME.
"Christians must remember that the Gospel is still for the Jew first"
(Romans 1:16; Acts 13:44-48; 18:5-6).
"We must love our great Hebrew friends and neighbours and seek with
all our hearts to bring them to know the Lord Jesus Christ. Who is the
literal promised Messiah of their Old Testament, the Saviour of all
who trust Him."
DESPATCH COMMENT:
How DARE some 'Christian' groups refuse to preach the Gospel to the
Jews because it might offend them!!!!
We have heard of a certain well-known witness to Israel which insists
that all who go with them to Israel MUST NOT MENTION JESUS CHRIST OR
THE GOSPEL. Now God will one day call these people to account for the
loss of precious souls who have gone to a Christless eternity.
A well-known leader of this 'embassy' told a pastor that he could not
preach Christ Jesus because the dear Jews cringe when the name JESUS
is spoken!
With the above from the Talmud, no wonder!
Is There A Future in God for ISRAEL?
The Bible abounds with marvellous prophecies and promises to the Jews.
These chosen people of God have a magnificent future which will be to
the Glory of the Almighty. BUT NOT YET, the purposes of God are
revealed in scripture, and we are not at liberty to twist scripture to
suit our own scenarios.
The Jewish nation has to pass through a terrible time of discipline
and purging, before the Lord can restore the land and reinstate the
Throne of David. THE TIME OF JACOB'S TROUBLE is the period called þthe
tribulationþ. In this period, multitudes of Jews will receive Christ
as Messiah and Saviour. 144,000 of these, virgin evangelists, will
preach the Gospel of Christ to suffering sinners. (Read... Zech.
12:10-13:1; Rev. ch. 7).
When Christ Returns, at His Second Coming, after He has dealt with the
rebellious nations of the world, He will set in place the restored
nation of Israel, and rule the earth from the Throne of David.
READ ABOUT THE FINAL RESTORATION OF ISRAEL,~
About the Lord's Second Advent, and the re-establishment of the Throne
of David in AMOS 9:11-15. Compare the verses in the New Testament,
Acts 15:13-18.
THIS WILL ALL HAPPEN AFTER THE CHURCH AGE!
Note: verse 14,
"to visit the Gentiles to take out of them a people for his
name."(refers to the Church Age, up to the Rapture). Verse 16, "After
this I will return..." (refers to the Second Advent).
THEN will Christ Himself build again the tabernacle of David. It would
seem to me as foolish to try to restore Israel and rebuild the Temple
as it is to try to save the earth and restore the environment.
CHRIST JESUS HIMSELF will handle all that, Praise His Name! The Jews
at this period NEED THE GOSPEL. DO YOU LOVE THEM ENOUGH TO PREACH IT?
Jubilee Celebrations of The World Council of Churches.

No World Council of Churches Assembly takes place in a vacuum. It
will be important in preparing for the Eighth Assembly to take into
account other contemporary appropriations of the jubilee theme; other
commemorations and anniversaries and the inevitable symbolic
significance that will come to be attached to the approach of the year
2000.
The first of these is linked in an Asian-African proposal for a
'Jubilee in 1998' marking the 500th anniversary of the voyage of Vasco
de Gama to Asia via the Cape of Good Hope. An extensive research
project on the effects of colonialism and neo-colonialism in these two
continents - both in terms of environmental damage and the human cost
- has already been outlined for this campaign, which proposes to
demand cancellation of debt, restoration of land and reparation for
what was taken.
The pronounced interest here in reviving the social, economic and
ecological implications of the biblical jubilee motif mirrors the
continuing interest in Latin America, following 1992 commemorations of
the 500th anniversary of the voyage of Columbus, in specifically
applying the jubilee principle to the cancellation of debts as a
central biblical perspective of hope.
Two recent national-level jubilee experiences also merit evaluation in
terms of how the jubilee motif can strike root beyond a small circle
of the initiated:
*Korean churches have been engaged in a visible campaign to designate
1995 - fifty years after the division of the country following World
War II - as a jubilee year for reunification.
*In 1991, the 700th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation, churches
and Christian groups in the country called for a symbolic act of
reparation and cancellation of debt using jubilee imagery.
*Christian attention to the year 2000 is likely to focus on its
celebration within the Roman Catholic Church as a 'holy year' and, to
a lesser extent, on a number of evangelistic projects and schemes
seeking to 'reach the whole world' by that year. (Konrad Raiser).

Year of Jubilee comments -
The Sabbath Years and the Year of Jubilee are set forth in Leviticus
25:1-55 and contains one of the most sophisticated pieces of social
legislation to emerge from the ancient world. Much of its intent was
to eliminate poverty, as is explicitly stated in the parallel in
Deut.15:4,5. No evidence exists that the system was ever fully
implemented, but had it been, Israel's history would have been far
different. The provisions of the chapter prevent overworking the land,
call for regular land redistribution and forbid perpetual servitude.
Years are divided into groups of seven, with the seventh as a
sabbatical year (year of rest). No farming was to be done on that year
(Lev.25:3-5), debts were to be cancelled (Deut. 15:2), and indentured
servants were to go free (Deut. 15:12-15). This cycle was to repeat
itself seven times, for a total of forty-nine years. The next year was
to be a special one called Jubilee. What was true during a sabbatical
year applied to this year also, but in addition all real estate,
except that within walled cities, automatically reverted to the family
to which it had originally been assigned. Servants were to be
released, because all Israelites already belonged to God as His
servants - as in the rescue from Egypt. The land was to be redeemed
regularly, because it actually belonged to God, not Israel (Lev.
25:23,24). That some Israelites, even centuries later, regarded the
keeping of ancestral real estate in the family as a sacred duty can be
seen in Naboth's reason for his refusal to sell King Ahab his vineyard
(Kings 21:3).
The employment of God's commands to Israel are once again being
applied to the gentile nations. It all sounds rather gratuitous and
patronising. It is puzzling as to just what the world powers have in
view when such generous offers are made to all those nations who are
heavily indebted to the International Monetary Fund and/or the World
Bank.
It is acknowledged that ex President Ferdinand Marcos was offered a
way out of the debt of the Philippines - debt for equity swap - in
that he would sign over all natural resources of his country IN
PERPETUITY, implement a cashless society with all citizens issued with
a debit card. Thereafter, the nation would be permanently in debt to
the World Money Controllers with no hope of ever redeeming themselves.
It is known that they rulers of this present darkness are endeavouring
to bring in the New World Order - Political, Social and Religious by
the year 2000 (man proposes, but God disposes). Therefore it is not
surprising to see these 'Jubilee Themes' being proposed as a most
benevolent move, firstly through the churches and eventually through
the One World Government.

Which Temple at Jerusalem? & When will it be set up?
To save confusion about the Biblical teaching concerning THE TEMPLE AT
JERUSALEM, we could do well by summarizing the temple teaching to make
things clear.
We recommend the Biblical notes of Clarence Larkin, also the Bible
study course by Alfred Thompson Eade, on these subjects.
WHAT ABOUT THE TEMPLE THAT IS BEING PLANNED
IN JERUSALEM RIGHT NOW!
This temple will be completed, according to Biblical prophesy. Read
Rev. 11:1-14. There you will note that an Angel told John to rise and
measure the temple. This was not the Temple of Herod, for this had
been destroyed by Titus 25 years before the writing of Revelation. It
was clearly a future temple to be built at Jerusalem. It is prophesied
that there will be a temple at Jerusalem during the reign of
Antichrist, there has to be because he will SIT in it, and there
PROCLAIM HIMSELF TO BE GOD. (11 Thess. 2:3-4). And then he will cause
what is known as THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION written about by Daniel
(Dan. 9:27) which is most certainly, to be installed in God's HOLY
PLACE. (Matt. 24:15).
IS THIS TEMPLE ALSO THE TEMPLE
OF THE MILLENNIAL REIGN OF CHRIST?
NO! This is NOT the same temple, as described by Ezekiel(Ezk. 4:1;
42:20) That temple will be built at Shiloh [see diagram], in the Midst
of the Holy Oblation (Ezek. 48:8; 21).
WHEN WILL THE TEMPLE OF CHRIST BE BUILT THEN?
It will not be built until after physical changes have happened to the
earth and the Land of Palestine, these will take place at the return
of Christ to the Mount of Olives. (Zech. 14:4).
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE TEMPLE
THE JEWS ARE WANTING TO BUILD NOW?
It will probably be destroyed by the mighty earthquake that destroys
the tenth part of the City, the earthquake that will occur at the
breaking of the Seventh Seal, the sounding of the Seventh Trumpet, and
the pouring out of the Seventh Vial. (Read Rev. 8:5; 11:19; 16:18).
WHAT WILL THE TEMPLE OF THE LORD BE LIKE,
& WHY WILL IT BE BUILT AT SHILOH?
If you will read the prophesy in Ezek. 48:10, 20, 21, you will see
that the `Temple' or Sanctuary will not be built in the New City. It
will be built in the midst, in the middle, of the Holy Oblation. It
will be located at or near Shiloh, the area where the Children of
Israel conquered the Land, there the Tabernacle rested until the
Temple of Solomon was finished. The Sanctuary and its area will be a
glorious place, a Highway will lead from the Sanctuary to the New
City. (Isaiah 35:8). This will be a breath-taking boulevard, lined
with magnificent trees, stretching 12 miles long!
This Temple Ezekiel describes will occupy a space of 500 reeds on a
side, or nearly a mile square. (Ezek. 42:15-20). Read Zechariah 14:8
for the prophecy of the LIVING WATERS that will flow in THAT DAY, the
Millennial Day.
WHAT PHYSICAL CHANGES WILL HAPPEN
WHEN CHRIST RETURNS TO THE HOLY LAND?
The Prophet Zechariah describes the stupendous scene in Zech. 14:4,
10, 11.
"His (the Lord Jesus Christ's) feet shall stand in THAT DAY upon the
Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east and the Mount
of Olives shall Cleave in the Midst Thereof Toward the East and Toward
the West, and There Shall Be a Very Great Valley; and Half of the
Mountain Shall Remove Toward the North and Half of It Toward the
South. ...All the Land Shall be Turned as Plain From Geba to Rimmon
South of Jerusalem; and it SHALL BE LIFTED UP AND INHABITED."
.
HOW CAN SUCH CHANGES TAKE PLACE?
They will probably happen because of earth-quakes and volcanos
erupting. An astonishing prophecy in Micah 1:3,4 says it all:
"Behold, the Lord cometh forth out of His place, and will come down,
and tread upon the high places of the earth. And the mountains shall
be MOLTEN UNDER HIM, and the VALLEYS shall be CLEFT AS WAX BEFORE THE
FIRE, and as the WATERS THAT ARE POURED DOWN A STEEP PLACE."
The Lord Jesus Christ, Mighty in Power, needs no man or group to
assist Him as He brings His earthly Kingdom. The New City will be
established on a Land which has had the land surface of Palestine
levelled, and the Dead Sea will be raised, so that its waters can flow
into both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
JERUSALEM WILL BE CALLED A NEW NAME IN THE MILLENNIUM REIGN.
Ezekiel writes that the name that Jerusalem will be called in That Day
will be JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH, meaning THE LORD IS THERE - PRAISE HIS NAME.
(Ezek.48:35).
THE LAND OF PALESTINE WILL BE A LAND OF PEACE AND FERTILITY.
"It shall come to pass in THAT DAY (the Millennial Reign, not NOW)
that the mountains shall drop new wine, and the hills shall flow with
milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a
fountain shall come forth of the House of the Lord, and shall water
the Valley of Shittim, the country about the Dead Sea." Joel 3:18.
THE JEWS WERE SLOW AT HEART, ARE WE ALSO SLOW AT HEART?
The prophets foretold the terrible suffering of Christ, the Jew's
Messiah, in the Old Testament passages of scripture. The Jews should
have realized who Christ Jesus was, but they were slow of heart. We
might be rather superior in our outlook towards those who did not know
that the Messiah would suffer and die for the sin of the world. We
might say, þbut did not the scriptures show plainly what would occur?
Surely the greater reproach is due to those Christians who, NOW, do
not believe that the Son of God will come again, in the clouds of
heaven, with power and great glory. We find the first Advent, with its
prophetic fulfilment, easy to believe, because it has already
happened, not because we believed the foretelling of the Old Testament
prophets. We cannot reproach the Jews for their unbelief in New
Testament times, without considering whether we would have been any
better. It is sinful mankind per se that is at fault, not just the
Chosen Race.
To spiritualize scripture, in the midst of unequivocal predictions
about the Second Advent of Christ, is certainly equally blindness on
the part of the Christian Church. Many Christians are blinded to the
predictions of Christ Jesus' EARTHLY GLORY, by the above. In other
words, just as the ancient scribes told the people that it was foolish
to interpret the prophecies about the SUFFERINGS of the Messiah
literally, so today modern þscribes and Phariseesþ are telling the
people that the prophecies of the Lord Jesus Christ's EARTHLY GLORY
are not to be taken literally.
THE TWO ADVENTS.
There are two lines of prophecy which foretell the Messiah's Coming.
These lines appear to be in total contrast. ONE BODY OF PREDICTIONS
SPEAK OF SORROW, HUMILIATION, GRIEF AND DEATH. This was the FIRST
ADVENT.
THE SECOND ADVENT PREDICTIONS SPEAK OF SPLENDOUR, A RESISTLESS
SOVEREIGN, of judgement of the earth, the regathering of Israel and
the restoration of THE THRONE OF DAVID. ARE YOU STILL IN BLINDNESS,
dear reader?
As so many of the Jews were at the FIRST COMING OF THE SON OF GOD?
FIRST ADVENT PREDICTIONS: Isa. 53; Isa. 7:14; Ps. 22:1-18; Dan.9:26;

Don Stanton & Marantha Revival Crusade
With some pain, and with deeply felt gratitude for the wonderful work
done for many years by Don Stanton of Maranatha Revival Crusade,
Despatch and its accountability structure, must make comment on some
of the changes which have happened to this fine ministry. In no way do
we wish to wilfully cause damage to personalities, only to alert
others in these terrible days of doctrinal deceptions. Of all the
Christian ministries throughout my many years as a believer, Maranatha
Revival Crusade has been one of the ministries I have most respected.
Don has reached so many with the Gospel, and has alerted hundreds of
thousands to the dangers of the NWO.
With the above comments always in mind, Despatch must deal with the
recent changes which we feel are becoming unacceptable. Maranatha
Revival Crusade's, World Report, No. 103, page 41-43 has brought out a
number of answers to questions which some puzzled believers have been
asking. Don has said, in essence, that he is not Judaizing the
Christian message and Churches. Before hand, we and others had written
to Don making comment. The answers are fine in World Report, but the
strange thing is that Don Stanton SAYS certain things, but other books
he endorses, mainly by the group called Tishrei, give other, opposite
views. What is going on? No reply had come from Don in regard to our
letter, sent with other people's letters and material.
The Book of Hebrews, a new version called A Clear, Preferred Version,
compiled by Don Stanton from every version imaginable, (including the
Catholicised, New International), which even changes the Lord Jesus
Christ's name to Y'shua, is astonishing!
What next! Don Stanton is rewriting the Bible! On page 49 of this new
Epistle to the Hebrews, Don suggests that Pastors make Saturday their
Rest Day, or Sabbath. There are no formal instructions to do so, but
there is a decidedly Jewish, Old Testament flavour to the whole thing,
a suggestion that keeping a Sabbath would be advantageous.
Don states on page 41 of "World Report" that,
"We are Not going back under the Law of Moses."
Compare with the book `Law and Grace' from Maranatha, page 47:
"We are free to grow in grace and truth, towards the only true life of
grace, when we are completely submitted to God and our walk in the
Holy Spirit. YET THE LAW has a part to play alongside this as we
mature in the life of grace, when we are completely submitted to God
and our walk in the Holy Spirit."
Page 46 of Law and Grace plainly states:
"The rest of us have a fallen nature which contests our spiritual
life, even after we have made our commitment to the Lord and received
the blessing of salvation... Everything of the flesh is open to
deception and corruption and MUST COME UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE LAW."
Page 47: of "Law and Grace"...
"Indeed, at the end we will say, by the grace of God, þLord I love
Your Torah!...The heart of the Torah (the O.T. Law) reflects the heart
of God and should also reflect our own heart's condition...The deep
roots of the Christian faith will reach down and discover the heart of
the Torah of God."
The Torah is THE LAW of the Old Testament. If this is not going back
under the law, then I cannot imagine what WOULD BE! No, not for
salvation, but going back under the Law as a control for our Christian
WALK after we are saved! This is Judaizing! THE LAW for
sanctification.
To be under the Law is not freedom in Christ Jesus our Lord, it is to
be in bondage to become a debtor to keep the whole of the Mosaic Law.
It is a strong form of legalism which was written about in the book of
Galatians.
It is, as Wilmington's Bible Commentary puts it:
"To put oneself back under the law means to deny the sweet and sure
control of God's grace!"
I, for one, will not trade the blessed yoke of Christ Jesus, for the
burden of the yoke of the Law. What a contrast.
JESUS CHRIST SAYS:
"Come unto to me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will
give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek
and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my
yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt. 11 :28-39.
COMPARE THE YOKE OF THE LAW:
"Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the
disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?" Acts
15:10. Read Acts 15:5 for yourselves.
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us
free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Galatians
5:1.
I shuddered to read on
page 44 of World Report, No. 103:
"But, Y'shua-There's just something about that name! Master, Saviour,
Y'shua, Like the fragrance after the rain. Y'shua! Let all heaven and
earth proclaim. Kings and kingdoms will all pass away, But there's
always something about THAT original Name."
What is going on, Don? Is this another` Jesus', a spirit, dare I say
it?
It seems that Don is writing a WHOLE new version of God's Word, a
whole new Bible, the Clear Preferred Version, C.P.V.! He quotes form
HIS version all the time in his Prophetic Alerts. He has diligently
compared the Greek text AND has, he says, written with weight placed
on the Greek Textus Receptus. Well, that is great, some of it is not
from the occult or Catholic versions!
TISHREI, the Christian/Jewish organisation which Don Stanton has
enthusiastically joined forces with, is causing concern to Christians
in some quarters, ourselves as well! A difficult group to write about
as the material sent out by these people is heavy with Judaism and
Hebrew phrases and words. There is little doubt that the return to the
Old Testament and the Hebrew which is marking the MRC booklets has its
source in TISHREI. Perhaps it would be wise to summarise the þchangesþ
which Tishrei is bringing in.
Tishrei and MRC are stating that Christians should return to their
Jewish roots.
They are stating that the Mosaic Law is the control under which the
Christian should live. (NOT be saved by, but should be disciplined
by).
They are intimating that the name Lord Jesus Christ is not the real
name of the Lord, but that Y'shua is.
Tishrei and [ MRC ? ] state that it could be time to drop these titles
also - Church could become something like Fellowship of Believers,
Christian could become People of the Way or Believers in Yeshua the
Messiah. Says Clifford Denton, Editor-in-chief of Tishrei, Adolf
Hitler was a 'Christian'; I can understand why believing Jews do not
refer to themselves as Christian. (The Name Above All Names, p 37)
A plethora of Judaizing is advocated by Tishrei and Don Stanton's MRC,
yet Don continues to deny this obvious fact. Don decries complaints
that he is Judaizing Christians, yet he has departed from the plain,
unadorned faith in Christ Jesus and the New Testament, which is better
than the Old, by the following Jewish innovation:
Tishrei itself is a ministry to converted Jews, which seeks to make
newly converted Jews þcomfortableþ in Christianity. But why SHOULD
they change Christianity back to Judaism! Next thing we'll know is
that evangelists will want to make Hindu converts comfortable, so they
will change Jesus Christ's glorious name to Kali, and the church to
ashram, and pastor to guru. Not the same as Y'shua? True, Kali is
pagan and evil, but our Christian titles are very important to us all.
Can you imagine standing in Church and singing, "What a Friend we have
in Y'shua". Or singing, "The People of the Way's one foundation is
Y'shua."
TISHREI and Don Stanton insist that Christians return to their Jewish
roots. The front of books sent by Tishrei have a modern version verse
from the book of Romans, which gives quite a different meaning from
the KJV. In essence it suggests that Christians DRAW THEIR SPIRITUAL
NOURISHMENT FROM THE ROOT OF JUDAISM, whilst the KJV clearly shows
that both Christianity and the Jews draw their spiritual nourishment
from CHRIST JESUS who is the GOOD OLIVE TREE. COMPARE TISHREI'S COVER
VERSE WITH KJV VERSE - ROMANS 11:17
Tishrei: "...you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in
among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive
root..."
KJV: "And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a
wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and WITH THEM partakest
of the root and fatness of the olive tree."
The reader can see that the first quote from Tishrei gives the
impression that Christians get nourishment from þthe olive rootþ which
Tishrei sees as Judaism. Whilst the KJV shows clearly that
Christianity and Judaism BOTH draw from the root of the olive tree,
which root is Christ Jesus our Lord. He is the good olive tree of
Romans 11:24. The Jews could hardly be the broken off branches, AND be
the þgood olive treeþ as well! Especially when they were broken off
because they rejected their Messiah, Christ Jesus.
The olive tree represents the blessings promised to Abraham's seed. He
was a Hebrew. The promise came down history, until Christ Jesus was
born of that line, and IN CHRIST were all families of the earth
blessed. Compare Gen.12:3; Gal.3:6-9 & 13-14.
TISHREI and DON STANTON are bringing bondage to the people of God!
Deliberately? Of course they are not! We need to be much in prayer for
those in leadership, that God would grant to them that they be kept
from deception. Don is right in the front lines of the battle, he is
no doubt very sincere.
In the Tishrei material TALMUDIC quotes appear constantly. Hebrew
phrases, words, feasts, laws, dietary habits, the Sabbath and so on
are stressed overwhelmingly. Why? Because they are seeking to bring
the Christians back to the Jewish roots which do not exist for us! WE
ARE NEW TESTAMENT CHRISTIANS, people. Do not go into bondage again to
the law. In Christ Jesus ALL THINGS ARE MADE NEW.
If Tishrei is NOT doing something þdifferentþ to our Christian faith,
then why do they teach at all? The very fact that Tishrei is teaching
other material from that which is clearly of the Christian faith
surely shows they are teaching something decidedly different, and it
is clear to see it is Judaism!!!!
Don Stanton cannot blithely deny the above, then
suggest pastors should have Saturday as a Sabbath;
suggest we keep Jewish festivals;
suggest we incorporate the Mosaic Law to discipline us;
suggest we might change our name for our Lord to the Hebrew, our
Church and even our NAME CHRISTIAN could be changed;
change the Bible to suit his new Hebrew leanings and allow the Talmud
to be added here and there in the books he recommends, and still say
HE IS NOT JUDAIZING THE CHRISTIANS!
Again we ask for prayer for Don Stanton. The change in the ministry is
disturbing in the extreme. If everyone cancels their subscriptions
because of our stand, then that is their choice, I am sure God will
soon give us other work to do, as this is his work not ours. He will
only reward those who stand for the Truth, either now or in eternity.
SOME QUOTES FROM THE TISHREI MATERIAL
WHICH IS INFLUENCING DON STANTON SO MUCH THESE DAYS:
"...far from labelling Paul as a chauvinist, we might see that his
teaching was a master-piece of interpretation of the law into the age
of grace."
p.90. Tishrei,Ways of Thinking
"Rabbi Meir said, `While the man is in agony, what does the Tongue (a
name for God) say? "...(Sanhedrin 6:5).
* note: This passage really refers to Deuteronomy 21:22-23, which
speaks of a criminal who is being put to death.
"Rabbi Meir expounds the Hebrew words (ki-le-lat' elo-him) as a
painful thing of God, ... The use of simple - to - complex reasoning
is proportionate as frequent in the teaching of Jesus as it is in the
teaching of other Rabbis. The Mishnah is approximately six times the
size of the Gospels..."
The point Despatch wants to make here is that the Tishrei books draw
together the Jewish holy books, the Talmud, the Old Testament and the
New Testament as though they were of equal value. Christ Jesus is even
seen above as one of the Rabbis [He was called `Rabbi' meaning teacher
in the N.T, but He is NOW the High Priest of the Church.]
TISHREI IS LEADING CHRISTIANS AWAY FROM
THE COMPLETED CANON OF SCRIPTURE.

RABBINIC LITERATURE: A SPIRITUAL TREASURE.
"The sages were the creators of the Old Torah. This literature, still
unwritten in Jesus' day is of great value in understanding Jesus'
sayings. It is also a rich treasure of spiritual wisdom....The first
attempt to commit the Oral Torah to writing is called the Mishnah.
This work was compiled by Rabbi Yehudah ha-Nasi around 200 A.D."
TISHREI WANTS TO MAKE THE TALMUD A CHRISTIAN COMMENTARY
AND CHRIST JESUS A HEBREW MESSIAH, FOR EVERYONE.
Read the quote from page 34 of ... Rabbinical Judaism as a Background
to Scripture:
" Menahem writes,' Is there any likelihood that in this age of
prophetic changes in the Church, in the Jewish people, and in the
nations, an AUTHORITATIVE Jewish component can rise again within the
Church? If only to deal with the peculiarly Jewish issues facing
believers from among JEWS and GENTILES, touching such areas as Jewish
evangelism, the relation TO THE TORAH, RABBINIC TRADITION, CHRISTIAN
tradition within a Jewish context, fellowship, eschatology, the need
for an AUTHORITATIVE grappling with these issues is evident."
Same page, "Church authority was first established in Jerusalem, so in
these days of restoration should we not expect that authority will
return to this city?"
The above quote was announcing a leading article by Menahem Benhayim,
former Israel Secretary of the International Hebrew Christian
(Messianic Jewish) Alliance.
Many more quotes could be given. Now compare these aims with the
prophecies of Rick Joyner, who is a Dominionist who wants to form a
kingdom of God across the planet: "This will be the most glorious
advance that the church is to make before the return of the Lord. THE
JEWS AND THE GENTILES WERE MEANT TO BE ONE LOAF (see Ephesians
2:14-18). The plan will not be complete until they are joined in
Christ. When the times of the Gentiles end it is the beginning of the
times of the Jews and the Gentiles. This period will not be complete
until the barriers of race and prejudice have been overcome and there
is unity between the spiritual and natural seeds of Israel." p.139.
Page 140 of the same book: "When the apostolic ministry has been fully
restored so will the apostolic message concerning Israel be restored:
the grafting back in of the Jew and Israel's role in God's plan for
this day. With this revelation an ILLUMINATION will also come on His
plan for the church which TRANSCENDS that which is PRESENTLY
UNDERSTOOD." (emphasis in both quotes mine.)
Page 141: "Because it is the central purpose of God to reveal His
resistance to the proud, there will also be an increasingly swift
judgement against those who become arrogant toward the natural
branches (the Jews). Romans 11 :18-22. This must be so because of the
significance of what will result when the two olive tress become one.
The joining of the natural and heavenly seeds (the Church and Israel)
will ultimately result in the free interchange between the heavens and
the earth, one day making it possible for God who is spirit to dwell
on earth among men in His fullness."
MAY THE READER UNDERSTAND.
For those who have studied the Biblical plan for the Jews and the
Church, it is very clear that something is seriously amiss in all
this! The subject is vast, there will be books suggested that you may
desire to purchase for deeper understanding. Let us look at Scripture
for truth on these matters.
Firstly the Jewish people:
Nowhere in Scripture does God ever suggest that the converted Jews of
this era will join with the converted Gentiles of this era and made
something completely þnewþ a different þloafþ. When a Jew or Gentile
accepts Christ Jesus as Saviour he/she becomes a member of the
Christian Body of Christ - the Christian Church. Why, the early
disciples were once Jews, when they accepted Christ as Saviour they
became members of His mystical Body. There is no Jew, Gentile or Greek
or Hindu in Christ Jesus, we become one, the wall of partition has
been broken down.
The Jews will not lead the Christians into higher truth about the
Bible through their Oral traditions or holy books. Why? Because the
Canon of Scripture is completed already, and those Jewish writings are
NOT part of that Canon. No one can just add to the Bible - there is a
curse from the Lord about such presumption. Also the Talmud and other
Jewish books contain shockingly ungodly writings. (If you doubt that,
we have copies of some portions which you can read for yourselves.)
The JEWISH NATION is actually the natural branch which will be grafted
back in, not those Jews who accept Christ Jesus as Saviour NOW. When a
Jew receives Christ Jesus, he then becomes a part of the Bride of
Christ who will be Raptured BEFORE God takes up the Jewish nation
again. Israel will be grafted in again after the Church has been taken
away to meet Christ Jesus in the air! So there will be no þnewþ move
of God which will happen because the Gentile believers and the Jewish
believers become one. They are one in Christ from the moment each
receives salvation.
The Jewish converts, with the Rabbis, will not be given by God a new
authority over the Church of Christ Jesus in these Latter Days. The
Jews as a nation have been laid aside until the fullness of the
Gentiles, that is when all the Church has been saved. The Rapture ends
the þfullness of the Gentilesþ. Not to be confused with the times of
the Gentiles which will not be over until the Gentile nations no
longer dominate the earth's system, and the Lord has taken away their
rule.
The bringing of the Mosaic Law over all the nations of the earth as
presented by Tishrei and Don Stanton is a reconstructionist aim -
Dominion Theology. That those who are seeking Dominion are Replacement
Theologians is true, so why does Don Stanton declare that he, himself,
does not believe in Replacement Theology? True, Don does not accept
that the Church is Israel, but he does accept that the nations have
been given the O.T. Law of Moses, which is also Replacement Theology.
The books
"Whatever Happened to Heaven", by Dave Hunt
"Dominion Theology: Blessing or Curse?" Thomas Ice,
both give detailed information about these issues.
From the book by Thomas Ice, page 130:
"CONFUSION OF THE LAW OF GOD. Sometimes theonomists seem to speak of
the law of God as the moral law in the heart of man, whether Israelite
or Gentile, and sometimes as the written law at Sinai. They jump back
and forth between these two with no clarification. It is true that
nations are commanded to be just, but never are specific regulations
given to them as they were to Israel. Paul in Romans 2:14-15 argues
that the nations have a law written in their hearts even though they
do not have the stipulations of the Mosaic law.
Since a law is given within the context of a covenant, the nations
could not be given the Mosaic law since they are not under the
covenant of Sinai; instead they are under the Noahic Covenant....
CHRISTIAN RECONSTRUCT- IONISTS. (Despatch comment, these are
replacement theologians) believe not only that the Mosaic law should
be practiced by individual Christians for sanctification but that
Christians are responsible to have the civil magistrates enforce it in
its detail in each society in which they live."
Don Stanton and M.R.C. is moving away from his original stance as a
pre-millennial believer into the camp of the Dominionists! The arena
which is dominated by anti - democracy, anti - freedom in Christ
militants such as Rousas Rushdoony, Gary North and Greg Bahnsen.
A quote from Tishrei to prove the above:
"...we know that the Kingdom of God will be built, ultimately, through
individuals who turn to the Lord for salvation. These things should
send a shudder through the government of any land. It is not possible
to see a specific promise for any nation other than Israel in
scripture ...but it is possible to know what God requires of a nation,
through what was taught to Israel, simply, that God's laws had to be
obeyed....I would argue that none of God's laws have been abrogated."
(Law and Grace, page 40-41).
Throughout the Judaism of today there lurks the mysticism of the
Kabbalists. This, too, is of the Antichrist system. Not only is
Maranatha Revival Crusade actively condoning the bondage of new
Christian converts to the Rabbis, the oral Jewish traditions and the
Talmud, when these converts come from a Jewish background, MRC is
going further. They are seeking to bring bondage to those things into
the very Church of the Lord Jesus Christ! This is similar to sending
the Catholic convert back into the Popish system, no, it is more, it
is like encouraging these converts to bring the whole Church under the
Pope's system. Judaism is an evil, Satanic system of error as it is
today.
OTHER GROUPS WILL NOT PREACH CHRIST'S CROSS OF SALVATION.
Yucov Prashk, a former Jew, now a born again Christian preacher(not
calling himself a messianic or completed jew) has said: "If you knew
what Judaism is really about you would be shocked. Most Jews would be
shocked if they knew what these people believe."
On Rabbi Sneerson's sect Prashk says: "It is again Gnosticism. It is
totally crazy!"
Prashk warns against those Christian groups who build bridges with the
Jews, see the Jews as finding safety in the land of Israel and refuse
to give them the Gospel in case they offend. He declares with boldness
and truth that the only safety for the Jew is the Lord Jesus Christ,
and tells those who love the Lord and the Jews to keep away from
groups who refuse to share Christ and the Gospel with the Jews. Such
groups do not love the Jewish people, they are condemning individuals
to a Christless Eternity!
The Jew and the Future in God
"The Times of the Gentiles" are fully outlined in the Old Testament
book of Daniel. When these are fulfilled, when Christ Jesus puts down
all opposition to His reign at the Battle of Armageddon, the Gentile
Nations will no longer be the dominant ones of the earth - the nation
of Israel will.
NOW, at this point in time, and through history, the Jews' cry "HIS
BLOOD BE ON US AND OUR CHILDREN" has literally been permitted by God.
(Matt 27:25). Christ was crucified for the sin of the world, ALL men
and women were responsible for His death, but the Jews have borne
their rejection of their Messiah for nearly two thousand years. The
fearful events of AD 70; when they were banished from England in AD
1020; the casting out from France in AD 1306; the horrors when they
were banished from Prague and later in Constantinople in AD 1560; the
Spanish Inquisition, AD 1492 when Ferdinand and Isabella banished all
Jews from Spain; Hitler and the Holocaust - so much has happened to
these people who are still God's chosen people. NOW they are back in
their land, awaiting the dealings of God and the time when they will
accept the Lord Jesus as Messiah. But a time of God's judgement still
awaits in the Tribulation.
THE JEWS ARE NOT COMPLETELY CAST OFF BY GOD!
"The Children of Israel shall abide many days without a King, and
without a Prince, and without sacrifice, and without an Image, and
without an Ephod, and without Teraphim." (Hosea 3:4)
"TRODDEN DOWN of the Gentiles until the Times of the Gentiles be
fulfilled."
(Luke 21:24).
THEIR FUTURE IS ALL PREPARED.
No other nation on the earth has a future that has the Holy Spirit as
its þhistorianþ. The past has been mapped and recorded by the Holy
Spirit, and already the future of Israel is as the past, mapped and
recorded by the Holy Spirit. As head nation in the Millennium under
the rule of the Lord Jesus Christ, they will be greatly blessed.
"Therefore fear not, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord; neither be
dismayed, O Israel;.....For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save
thee; though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered
thee, yet will I NOT MAKE A FULL END OF THEE." (Jer. 30:10,11).
"And I will bring again the captivity of my people 'Israel' and they
shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant
vineyards and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens,
and eat fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they
shall NO MORE BE PULLED UP OUT OF THEIR LAND." (Amos 9:14,15).

John 5 : 42, 43; Jesus speaking to the Jews in his time predicted they
would accept the Antichrist as Messiah.
TODAY...The Church looks for no Messiah - we look for the Bridegroom
in the Rapture.
TODAY...Israel looks not for the First Coming of the Messiah [ He came
for them 2000 years ago ] - Israel is about to accept the Antichrist
as in John.5:43, as the First Coming of their Messiah.
World Leaders want Global Thanksgiving for all Faith.

Leaders want Global Thanksgiving for all Faiths.

"Thanksgiving was created as a day of reflection, a day to show
gratitude to God for life and its many blessings. Often in America,
however, the focus becomes football and feasting.
Last week, a group of leading clergy and academic scholars gathered in
Dallas to discuss how to return to the true meaning of Thanksgiving
and make it a more global holiday.
The four-day meeting of the Thanksgiving World Advisors at
Thanks-Giving Square in downtown Dallas sought common ground among
Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam for celebrating a
day of thanks.
Thanksgiving is a necessary element of the growing up of a human
person as a human beingþ said Cardinal Francis Arinze, president of
the Vatican Secretariat and Council for Inter-Religious Dialogue.
Thanksgiving is one of the high points of religious worship.
The get-together, organized by the Center for World Thanksgiving, also
allowed the religious and academic leaders to sit down in a small
group and talk to cone another about their faith.
Elizabeth Espersen, executive director of the Center for World
Thanksgiving, said last week's meetings gave the advisers an
opportunity to speak at a very profound level. She recounted that one
of them, Rabbi David Rosen of Jerusalem, said most interfaith meetings
have 50, 100 or 200 attendees, a size that makes it very difficult to
hold informative discussions.
What we do here is ask them to give us advice and also provide them
extended contact and in-depth interchange,
Ms. Espersen said. :When you think about it, this happens a lot in the
world of business. It should be happening in terms of religion."
Rabbi Rosen, international director of Inter-Faith Relations for
Israel and Rome for the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai Brith, said
the meeting was a chance for profound personal interchange.
An encounter with a person of faith is an encounter with God himself,
said the rabbi, who helped negotiate the recent Vatican Israel
agreement.
Feisal Abdul-Rauf, Imam of a New York City mosque and son of Center
co-rector Tan Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Rauf, also spoke highly of the
diverse religious perspectives present at the meetings.
One of the things about inter-faith (contact) is that it brings us
together and gives us insights into our own faiths, he said.
But most of the group's energy was focused on getting more people in
the world to show gratitude and give thanks for God's blessings.
In keeping with the meeting's theme Seeking Common Ground:
Thanksgiving in a World of Conflict, the religious and academic
leaders pored over psalms to find ones that everyone found acceptable
for a possible worldwide ceremony.
The advisers were updated on the efforts of people in the Northern
Ireland city of Belfast, torn apart by religious differences, to build
their own Thanks-Giving Square sanctuary. There also are plans to
build a Thanks-Giving Square in the Olympic Village in Atlanta.
The Belfast and Atlanta groups were sent bells as a tiny symbol to
them from us saying, `More power to you in your ambition,' said Peter
Stewart, founder of the Thanks-Giving Foundation.
Discussions also centered on the prospects for a World Thanks-giving
Day and even a World Year of Thanks.
The United Nations has the year of the child, the family, the woman,þ
said Cardinal Arinze. þA year for thanksgiving wouldn't be a bad idea
at all.
Cardinal Arinze, who has been mentioned as a possible successor to
Pope John Paul II, said thanks-giving þlooms large in our lives.
"Thanksgiving, after all, is not a gift which we give to God", he
said. It is a debt which we owe. The promotion of thanksgiving becomes
not only a human act, it also becomes a religious act."
But Dr. Mahmoud M. Ayoub, professor of Islamic Studies at Temple
University in Philadelphia, said that while thanksgiving must be tied
to the religions that celebrate it, the advisers also must find a way
to bring in those people who do not look up to a god.
"For thanksgiving to be a general principle to which all human beings
could relate, it need not be completely tied to religion', Dr. Ayoub
said. "That's why I say thanks-giving is not a ritual, but an
attitude. It's not just a time to eat turkey, smoke cigars and watch
football."
The attitude reminds us of the gratitude of thanksgiving in a real
way.
Cardinal Arinze agreed, saying that the advisers þmust not presume
that everybody gives thanks.þ Bishop Seigen H. Yamaoka, president of
the Buddhist Church of America, said the youth of the world must be
involved in any thanksgiving movement to ensure that the tradition
will continue for years to come.
"That's something we have to deal with now," the bishop said. When we
talk about future religions, we need to understand where to focus the
attention. There will be issues there. How will religion deal with the
needs and concerns they have?
That's what the future is.
Bishop Yamaoka also compared thanksgiving and gratitude to a window.
"Gratitude opens up individuals to other things,þ he said. þGratitude
allows things to come in. Without gratitude, nothing comes in."
The one issue the advisers must emphasize, said Dr. K.L. Seshagiri
Rao, a Hindu scholar working on a 17 volume encyclopedia of Hinduism,
is that thanksgiving is not controversial, only practical.
"Thanksgiving tells us that there are other values in our world than
material values." he said.
Rabbi Rosen agreed with Dr. Rao. "The problem with living in a free
societ"y, the rabbi said, "is that what we have is the measure of one
rather than what we are."

as chosen people. Jewish converts become Christians when saved they
are made new in Christ Jesus. Jews are special when saved they must
receive Christ differently. They should keep the Rabbis the Law the
Talmud the Feasts etc. and add these to Christianity.
Israel has been cast aside by the Lord. The Church is Israel
andinherited all her promises. Israel and the Church are two separate
identities.The promises of God to Israel are national in the
Millennium. The Church is Christ's Heavenly Bride. The Church and
Israel are ONE LOAF . (Rick Joyner etc.).We must come together in
merger in the Last Days.
The Old Testament is not very useful for the Christian it is not for
our instruction at all. The New Testament is a higher revelation than
the Old Testament but the whole Bible is our Word of God. In Christ
Jesus we are redeemedfrom the curse of the O.T. Law. The O.T. and the
N.T. are not enough as the Church's revelation. Christians should
return to Jewish roots and the O.T. Law.
The Jews are an evil race they are behind all the conspiracy on the
earth. They have even falsified the holocaust ...Anti-Semitism. The
Jews are near to the time of "Jacob's Trouble" - the Tribulation. God
will gloriously enlighten the nation near the end of the
Tribulation.Christ will be seen as their Messiah in His 2nd. Advent.
Judaism is going to lead the way in this pre-Rapture time. A "new"
understanding of the New Testament is coming through them.Christians
need their oral traditions their Rabbis and the Talmud.

The Jew in Prophecy
WILL ISRAEL BE SOON ATTACKED BY RUSSIA?
There are THREE groups of peoples in the Bible :
THE JEWS -
THE GENTILES -
CHURCH OF GOD.
All of these groupings have distinct identity, which should be
recognized by Bible believers. The Jews and the Gentiles are
completely separate from each other, but the CHURCH OF GOD is a NEW
BODY, which is made up of Gentiles and Jews, there is neither Jew or
Gentile in the Body of Christ. This is made very clear from Scripture.
(Col.3:11) CHRIST IS ALL When a Jew becomes a Christian, he is no
longer a Jew spiritually, he is in Christ Jesus a New Creation.
The Jews as a nation have a glorious future in God, as Scripture both
Old and New Testament attest. No nation has ever had such a visible
manifestation of the Presence of God as has the Jewish nation. The
list of Divine miracles and appearances to these people are stunning.
The "Red Sea driven back"; led by a þPillar of Cloud and Fire'; the
"walls of Jericho" falling (Joshua 6:1-27); the Angel of the Lord
encamping with them, and the slaying of 185,000 of the enemy soldiers
of Assyria to secure their deliverance, and so on. The great men of
the Jewish nation have been impressive beyond any nation. Abraham, a
man of faith; Moses the mighty leader and the receiver of the OT Law;
King David a writer of Psalms; wise Solomon; Daniel living for God in
evil Babylon. The writers of Scripture who were Hebrew Prophets,
Isaiah, Jeremiah; Ezekiel; Daniel. And through the nation of the Jew
was born the man of all men, the God man, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Today the Jews still lead the world in many ways, despite the great
dispersion which lasted almost two thousand years. Back in their land
again, they have been preserved by God for a magnificent future, when
they turn to accept Christ Jesus as their Messiah. The Bible predicts
that this time will come. (Zechariah 12:10 - 13:1) The restoration of
Israel and the establishment of the Millennial Kingdom are connected
with the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus Christ, in the future. Read
about it, Deut. 30:3-5; Psalm 2:1-9; Zechariah 14:4.
Before that glorious time, the Jewish nation as a whole will go
through a time of judgement from the Hand of the Almighty, of
chastening and wrath - the time of Jacob's Trouble, the Tribulation.
(Jer. 30:7) The Bible also predicts a great battle which is NOT the
battle of Armageddon, this is shown in Ezekiel 38. The exact timing of
this attack against Israel is not clear. Some scholars see it as
occurring before the Tribulation, just before, others believe it will
happen in the first half of the Tribulation itself. þThe Christian
World Reportþ, January, 1995, Vol.X. No.1, has startling news of
Russia and the nations on page 6. The aligning of nations happening
today is so close to the Biblical prophecy that it is clear to see
that Ezekiel's prophetic word, Ezek. 38:2,5 & 6 is very near to
fulfilment, in our day. This is also an indication that the Rapture,
which must happen close to or before the Ezekiel battle, is also
closer than ever.
Russia does not act by herself in the invasion foretold in Ezekiel
against Israel. Ezek.38 shows that other nations will join together to
create a northern army: "Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the
land of Magog, the chief Prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy
against him. Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with
shield and helmet. Gomer and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of
the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee."
It would be obviously advantageous for us to know what those nations
are today? No modern map contains all these names. But, Christian
World Report has an up-dated list which has been compiled from
Hammonds Atlas of the Bible Lands, from the map, The Nations According
to Genesis 10. The placement of early settlements of the tribes were
compared with a modern map of nations, as follows:
ROSH (not shown);
MAGOG...RUSSIA, (north of the Caspian sea);
MESHECH... Kazakhstan (east of the Black Sea);
TUBAL... Georgia and Northeast Turkey (southeast of the Black Sea);
PERSIA ...Northern Turkey(north of the Persian Gulf);
CUSH ...Iran (southern Nile Valley);
PUT...Ethiopia, Sudan (west of Egypt);
GOMER...Libya (north and south of the Black Sea); Ukraine, Southern
Russia, Central Turkey TOGARMAH (southeast of the Black Sea); Eastern
Turkey.
Perhaps you have thought of Gomer as Germany?
Yet Betty Lyn wrote in Pathways to Armageddon ...and Beyond. that with
the changing face of the globe this may not be so: "Many fine
expositors interpret Gomer to be modern Germany. This is in keeping
with Jewish tradition. Until the late 1980s it was very easy to stand
by this interpretation. East Germany was the largest Russian satellite
in Eastern Europe....Perhaps Germany is not the tribe of Gomer
mentioned in Ezekiel. On our cross-reference table, you can see that
at least some maps indicate that Gomer originally settled in what is
today the Ukraine, Southern Russia and Turkey before migrating
westward. Therefore Gomer may not be Germany at all, but the Ukraine
and her immediate neighbours."
What can we discover then from the above?
The modern day nations of Ezekiel 38, who will band together to attack
Israel, do appear to be RUSSIA, KAZAKHSTAN, GEORGIA, TURKEY, IRAN,
ETHIOPIA, SUDAN, LIBYA and UKRAINE.
Christian World Report has made a chilling discovery. The Intelligence
Digest has a special report titled, Iran's master plan for the
destruction of Israel. (The Stoneyhill Centre, Brimpsfield,
Gloucester, GL48LF, UK.):
"It is widely assumed that Iran is irrevocably opposed to the Arabs
negotiating peace treaties with Israel, but this is a misunderstanding
of its position. Iran is happy to see Israel forced into territorial
retreat, particularly if this means returning the Golan Heights to
Tehran's ally Syria. The terrorist campaign is not aimed at stopping
the peace process, it is aimed at putting maximum pressure on Israel
to compromise with Syria.
Whilst this is going on, Iran is pursuing a parallel policy of
surrounding Israel with implacable enemies. A pro-Iranian Islamist
regime is already in power in Sudan, Libya is firmly in the
anti-Israel camp, and Egypt and Algeria are under severe threat from
Islamist rebellions.
To the north and east of Israel, the position is not much better,
Syria and its Lebanon protectorate are close allies of Iran...even
ostensibly pro-Western Turkey is moving closer to Iran in order to
facilitate its economic activities in Central Asia (for which Iran
provides the link) and to help in the fight against Kurdish
separation.
The final part of the Iranian-constructed anti-Israel coalition is
Russia. Little has been heard of Russian activity in the Middle East
since the end of the Cold War, but Iran has been very careful to
nurture relations with Moscow."
The prophecy of Ezekiel is very close to fulfilment now. Just as the
Almighty God has protected Israel down through the centuries, He will
protect her now, in a miraculous way. God will be known in many
nations, þand they shall know that I am the Lordþ says Ezek. 38: 23.
This means for the Church of God that the Rapture is also very, very
near!
The miraculous defeat of Russia and the Moslem allies (Ezekiel 38)
will amaze the nations of the world, and will astonish Israel as well.
There will be a tremendous complex of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions,
diseases, hailstorms and fighting amongst the invading armies
themselves, until the armies of Gog will have five men out of six
killed (38:19-22; 39:2-4) Whatever happens to Russia herself?
Simultaneously with the events in the Middle East, great fires will
roar through the land of Russia, all along the coastlands of its
confederates (39;6), until Russia is completely wiped out as a global
power, and so will be its satellite nations demolished!
All other nations will see this and will know that God is real, and
that He did this to Israel's enemies. The effect on Israel will be
that the nation throws away its false beliefs, and its atheism, and
will know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward.
(39:22). However, Israel as a nation will continue to reject the
Saviour, Christ Jesus, and will return only to the religion of their
fathers. Later on, Israel will accept Christ as their Messiah
(Zechariah 12:10). When will this be? Not, it seems, until the
glorious Return of Christ when the entire nation will MOURN for the
One they pierced. (Zechariah 13:1; Romans 11:26). Thus redeemed Israel
will inherit the kingdom and enter the millennium, ready to enjoy the
wonderful promises made to their fathers.
Celebration of Tabernacles Is Rising To The Forefront

Tabernacles is taking a prominent place in the global “move of God”,
falsely named! 5 Tentative Schedule of EventsÂ’ for 1995. Christians
must be wary of celebrating events tied to Tabernacles especially
because the idea of such celebrations were laid in the works of Latter
RainÂ’s George Warnock in the 1950s, and this teaching has penetrated
the apostate "move of God", the spurious revival through the Laughing
Phenomena. (THE MERGER OF NEW AGE AND “CHRISTIANITY”).

In celebration of the 3,000th anniversary of Jerusalem, the
International Christian Embassy Jerusalem is sponsoring a series of
events designed to draw attention to the Old CityÂ’s rich biblical
history.
Although Jerusalem was founded more than 3,000 years ago, the year
1004 B.C. was chosen to date the anniversary because researchers and
archaeologists believe that was the year King David made Jerusalem the
capital of his Old Testament kingdom.
The anniversary will officially begin with the Jewish New Year in
September and will continue through the end of 1996 to encompass both
the Hebrew and Gregorian calendars.
The first event, a Christian celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles,
is scheduled Oct. 8-16. More than 4,000 Christians from nearly 100
countries are expected to join in the weeklong biblical feast....
The Christian Zionist Congress, an annual event featuring Bible
teaching and discussions about Israel, will focus this year on the
restoration of Israel and the threats posed by militant elements of
the Islamic faith....
The final event is the 1996 Christian celebration of the Feast of
Tabernacles, following a similar format as the 1995 feast. The theme
for the 1996 feast, to be held Sept. 27 - Oct. ??Oct. 1996 is “The
Holy City: The New Jerusalem,” a reference to Revelation 21:2.
The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem is not an official

to our minds the need to be loyal to Jesus Christ and His Truth.
Despatch acknowledges the sincerity of those who call themselves
Messianic Jews, but the extremists are sincerely wrong. Maranatha
Revival Crusade, June, 1995, has come right out with the Messianic Jew
connection at last, which really clears the air. People must be
allowed to decide for themselves whether they want to support this new
doctrinal emphasis or not. As for ourselves we are CHRISTIANS, praise
the Lord. In the June edition of Prophet Alert The Messianic Movement
was the leading article. Despatch will not deal with this in any
depth, space is short, but we must comment again. We deplore the hurt

Despatch Comment..If so, then why do they need a þnewþ movement? Why
like Jacov Prasch do they not simply bear the reproach of Christ and
accept that we are all Christians? We are ONE NEW MAN, the Christian
Church. Jews are no different than Gentile believers, we are neither
Jew nor Gentile we are CHRISTIANS. (Ephes. 2:15-18)

Bride, the Christian Church, not just the Jewish converts. The Church
needs to recover something which was lost, buried, we must be
þrestoredþ, they say. But, the Bride already has þher fullnessþ and we
do need to be rooted back in Abraham in the Messianic Jews to be
restored.

Despatch Comment...Are we to believe then, that the Christian Church
does NOT place an emphasis on the whole counsel of God? We are
supposed to believe that we need this Messianic Movement to bring us
back to this? I find that suggestion highly objectionable. Those who
faithfully teach the Word of God in the Christian Church have always
emphasised the whole counsel of God and they did not regress into the
O.T. dispensation to do so! The New Testament is NOT concealed in the
Old. The New Testament is the New Covenant which is þbetter thanþ the
Old. Read the whole of the book of Hebrews to see that. The Old is a
mere shadow of what is to come in CHRIST JESUS our Lord. I do not
believe that the Torah has anything to do with the N.T. believer - GOD
said we are no longer under it. It was þa curseþ which Christ Jesus
delivered us from. NOT because the Torah was evil, it is righteous,
Holy, but because WE are sinners who are under the Legal curse because
we cannot KEEP the Law. Never could, never will! Praise God, Jesus
Christ has kept it for us! (Galatians 3:10-13). Let Jesus Christ be
glorified, not Abraham.

Despatch Comment...The Messianic Movement does NOT have a correct
understanding of the Torah - in the New Testament sense, under the
Christian Age doctrines. That is the whole point, they are seeking to
bring Christians who are under Grace, back under Law, O.T. law. The
Christian of the N.T. is NOT lawless, he is under the NEW LAW in
Christ Jesus. To walk in the Spirit, for a Christian, is receiving the
righteousness of Christ, and in His strength alone, obeying the
commands of God. ALL given to us by God in the N.T. instructions. To
go back to the Torah is BONDAGE, forbidden by God because Christ has
instigated the New Covenant. (Matt. 22:37-40; 1Cor.1:30,31; Romans
13:8-14; 11 John 6; James 1:25,2:12; Gal. 5:14)

Despatch Comment...We Christians are citizens of Heaven, not in the
earthly Commonwealth of IsraeL! Jews come into the Body of Christ, NOT
Christians come into the Commonwealth of Israel. The passage in
Ephesians is speaking about us all coming into the household of God.
Once, in the O.T., the Lord God had a chosen people, a nation which
was Israel. The Gentiles were not a part of God's Covenant then. NOW
in the New Testament we are all God's people when we trust in Christ.
HE is the One we have come into, HE is our peace, HE has abolished the
enmity. We are One in Him and in His Body, the Church, NOT One in the

Despatch Comment...Of course Gentile believers don't become Jews.
Jewish believers become CHRISTIAN when they are born-again,
Australians become Christians, Indians do as well when they are
born-again. Where you live geographically is NOT the subject under
discussion. Indian believers may live in India, but they do not call
themselves born-again Hindus. Australian and Indian is not a religion,
þJewishþ is. Abraham was a man of faith, we are of Abraham only in
that respect. (Gal.3:6-7). We Christians are faith alone people, so
too was Abraham. Christians are all Children of God in Christ Jesus,
not in Abraham, and CHRIST is the good Olive Tree of Romans 11:24. The
Jews are the broken off branch of verse 20.

Despatch Comment...The Sabbath was the sign of the Mosaic Covenant,
there is NO Christian Church doctrine which directs us to keep the
Sabbath. (Exodus 31:12-17). In fact, the N.T. Christian is told NOT to
be in bondage to keep Sabbaths. That does not mean we do not rest,
worship or study, but it is not a Sabbath which is kept as under O.T.
Law. (Col. 2:16-17). We are not Jewish, we are Christians who worship
together in Christ Jesus.

the Lord - Pesach, Shavu'ot, Trumpets and Tabernacles...these
festivals also provide a bridge to help Jewish contacts find the
Messiah."
Despatch Comment...Despatch has dealt at length with the culmination
of the New Age and false Church merger, under the Vatican, World
Council of Churches and the New World Order hierarchy, being
massively, falsely, JEWISH, with the FEASTS taking pride of place. The
danger of all this is cooperation with them! The fearful delusions
which are riding on the Feasts can hardly be grasped by the reader.
JUBILEE, FEAST OF TABERNACLES are the false amalgamation of the whole
evil system in the year 2000. Basically, the Feast of Tabernacles will
be the celebration of the Dawning of the New Age, and Jubilee is a
socialistic redistribution of the planet's goods and property. (Write
for Despatch Vol.7:2 if you do not understand.) The Bible says we
should preach the Gospel to every person, Jew or Gentile, NOT hold
Jewish Feasts.

Despatch Comment...The sad part in this is that the Body of Christ is
divided, and God does not want that. The first Christians were Jews,
but they left that behind and gloried in Christ Jesus. They were not
fulfilled Jews or completed Jews, they were believers in the Precious
Lord Jesus. The whole of the book of Galatians should be read
carefully for the reader to see that this is true. It is a shame if
Jewish converts remain under bondage, it is even worst if bondage is
brought into the very Church of Jesus Christ, and presented at that as
though it was some sort of revival!
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us
free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." (Galatians

QUESTION:
Recently I've been aware of a growing movement that I sense is
slipping back into legalism - the modern Messianic congregations.
There seems to be an underlying pride that sets them apart from
converted Gentiles. They practice much Jewish tradition woven into the
Christian service. What do you think?
ANSWER:
Many congregations of Jewish believers are very Biblical; but others
have, as you suggest, fallen into legalism by putting themselves to
some extent under the law of Moses. Calling themselves completed Jews
(an unbiblical term), they think it helps to adopt Old Testament
Jewish customs. In contrast, the Bible says there is neither Jew nor
Gentile (Gal. 3:28) in the church, but Christ has made from Jew and
Gentile þone new manþ (Eph. 2:15).
Paul rebuked Peter for going back to Jewish separatism and for
compelling "the Gentiles to live as do the Jews" (Gal. 2:14). The
entire epistle to the Galatians argues against any Christian (Jew or
Gentile) observing the Old Testament law. We have a higher standard:
to be like Jesus by letting Him live His life through us. Jewish
customs have no value in Christ's Church.
The freedom we have in Christ from the law of Moses and from Jewish
legalism and customs was difficult for the first Jewish converts to
accept. The apostles and elders gathered in Jerusalem to consider this
issue and under God's guidance declared that the Gentile believers
were not under the law (Acts 15).
What about Jewish believers? There is no difference (Rom. 10:12)
between them and Gentiles in Christ, for He has þbroken down the
middle wall of partitionþ (Eph.2:14) between them having þblott[ed]
out the handwriting of ordinances [the law] that was against us ...
nailing it to his crossþ (Col. 2:14). Jews may honor their ancestral
heritage (in the passover, etc.) but must not mix Jewishness with
faith in Christ.
Messianic congregations who are trying to act Jewish need to heed
Paul's exhortation: "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith
Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of
bondage [law]" (Gal. 5:1).
WILL ISRAEL BE REVIVED IN GOD?
& WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN?
The Jewish question is the most astonishing subject in the entire
Bible. A man once said, when asked to prove that the Bible was true, I
can prove the Bible in just two words. What are they, replied his
opponent. THE JEW, said the man. Yes, the history of the chosen nation
of God is ample proof of the authenticity of Scripture. These people
who have been scattered across the globe for nearly two thousand
years, have remained a people despite that scattering, and who now are
pouring back to the Holy Land, after many attempts by the tools of
Satan to obliterate them from the face of the earth!
Will they accept Christ Jesus and be revived again? Yes, the
Scriptures tell us that they will. Both Old Testament and New
Testament prove that a remnant of the Jewish nation WILL know Christ
Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Not to become a part of the Church is this
dispensation, but to take their place as God's chosen nation on the
earth! - but not yet! There will be a national revival, an amazingly
great event. But this must take place after great trial and judgement
from the Lord, right at the end of the Tribulation, just before Christ
Jesus sets up His millennial reign. So there are a lot of events which
must take place before Israel, as a nation, is revived in the Lord.
THE OLD TESTAMENT ABOUNDS WITH THE GREAT TIDINGS
OF THE RETURN TO THE LAND AND REVIVAL.
Amos 9:11-15;
Ezekiel 20:42-44; 37:1-14; 15-22;
Isaiah 11:11;27:12-13;
Jeremiah 16:14-16;
Micah 4:1-2;
Zechariah 10:6-10;
Zephaniah 3:19-20;
DOES THE NEW TESTAMENT SUPPORT
THE OLD TESTAMENT ON THIS REVIVAL AND RETURN?
Yes it does, although it does not deal with Israel as a main theme, as
the New Testament's chief theme is the Church. Israel's history is an
important feature of the New Testament's teaching, however.
There was given to Mary a wonderful prophecy, the messenger was
Gabriel. (Luke 1 :32-33). A confirmation of the Old Testament, this
prophecy is found in Isaiah 9:6-9, where the throne of David is shown.
The millennial reign of Christ will be established upon the throne of
David, His Kingdom will be everlasting. This was confirmed to Daniel,
(Daniel 2:44; 7:14-27). Read Daniel chapter two and see how this
Kingdom will fill the whole earth.
What were the words of Mary, the mother of Jesus? They show the
confirmation of the Old Testament expectation of the covenant with
Abraham being fulfilled, not figuratively, but literally.
"He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy (as he
spoke to our fathers) to Abraham and his seed forever." (Luke
1:54-55).
What did Zecharias say in Luke 1:73? He spoke of the Abrahamic
covenant, þthe oath which he swore to Abraham our father.þ The oath
which God swore to Abraham had to do with the land and Israel taking
possession of it in the Last days.
A question was asked by Peter, which we see in Matthew 19:27, the
answer given by our Lord is very interesting, verse 28. þThe Son of
man sitting on the throne of gloryþ leads the reader back to Zechariah
6:13, where the BRANCH, MESSIAH, sits and rules from His throne. Then
if we read Ezekiel 47:13-48:29, we will see that the throne and the
rule of the 12 tribes are shown as being back in the land of
Palestine.
The Lord Jesus brought together affirmation of Daniel's prophecy about
Israel in the future times. "When ye therefore shall see the
abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in
the holy place." This is a reference to Daniel 9:27 where the
sacrifice and oblation is spoken of. Also to Daniel 12:11 where we see
the daily sacrifice would be taken away and the set up of the
abomination of desolation would occur. What is the information we can
glean from our Lord here? Obviously that Israel at a future time would
re-occupy the Holy land, build a temple, and a revival of formal
sacrifice would be recommenced.
The question asked by the disciples in Acts 1:6, "Dost thou at this
time restore the Kingdom to Israel?" surely would have made the Lord
Jesus put them right if they were wrong in assuming that Israel was to
have the Kingdom restored to them. But Jesus did not refute this
understanding, He simply warns them against speculation about the time
span. "It is not for you to know the times and seasons.' Jesus did not
try to change their minds about anticipating the Kingdom, just that no
time was given. THE JERUSALEM CONFERENCE (Acts 15:12-18). A stupendous
statement is made by James which was based on a prophecy in Amos
9:11-15. If you will read this prophecy you will find that it teaches
about the restoration of the Davidic Kingdom. þI will build it as in
the days of old...I will bring again the captivity of my people
Israel.þ All this passage has to do with the Millennial Reign of
Christ. It would be impossible for the monarchy of David to be set up
if the Jews did not again repossess the land, and if they were not
revived as a Godly nation. Those who wrongfully declare that Israel
has been cast off forever, that the Church is Israel now, would make
no sense of such a statement. James obviously did not believe that.
Verse 17 shows us that we cannot spiritualise the meaning away either,
þthat the residue of men might seek after the Lordþ shows us that the
Kingdom is on this earth!
Romans 11:27 says, "For this is my covenant unto them when I take away
their sins." The covenant mentioned here relates to Jeremiah 31:31-40.
The new covenant that provides for the regeneration of Israel, yes,
but also for something exciting - the national conversion of Israel!
This is a part of the covenant which deals with the rebuilding of
Palestine. Look at this wonderful promise to Israel as God's chosen
nation: "Holy unto the Lord, it shall not be plucked up nor thrown
down, any more forever". No, God has NOT cast off Israel. Read the
passage for yourself.
The ANTICHRIST is shown in 11 Thessalonians 2:4, "So that he as God
sitteth in the temple of God showing himself that he is God." The
context of this verse reveals that it refers to the Latter days.
Note these intriguing things. A temple will be rebuilt in the Latter
days. There is only one race of people who could build this temple -
the Jews. Now, they would never build a temple anywhere but in
Jerusalem. Therefore the Jews will build a temple in the land, they
are attempting such a venture now, there will be a resumption of
temple worship, and ANTICHRIST will sit in that temple as its þgodþ!
Before they accept the true Christ Jesus, they will accept another who
is the false Christ. Then, he will betray them, and eventually the
Jews will be converted and know the Lord Jesus Christ was their
Messiah who they rejected. Jesus Christ addresses the Jews in John
5:43: "I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if
another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive." Read on
through verses 44-47.
For those who imagine that Israel is cast away from God forever, and
the New Testament Church has taken her place, let them read Revelation
chapters 7 and 11. Chapter 7 shows that 144,000 will be selected by
the Lord from twelve tribes of Israel. This will happen in the last
days, in the Tribulation period. They will be special evangelists who
will be especially cared for by the Lord, preserved and kept under His
merciful protection. Obviously there must be a revival of Israel in
those days, in part.
Revelation chapter 11 gives a treasure house
of information about Israel in the Holy land.
Verse 1 shows there is a temple, an altar, and there are worshippers.
Verse 2 shows the court, the temple and the holy city.
Verse 8 tells the reader that this city is to be the earthly
Jerusalem. Therefore there must be a national revival of Israel, which
is part of the purposes of God. If God has given Israel a national
future in their land, who can stand against them? They are already
re-established as a political entity again, one day, after a period of
judgement in the Tribulation, they will become all that the Scriptures
have declared they will be - and they will accept the One they pierced
and declare that He is God.
Zechariah 12:10:
"And I will pour out upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants
of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall
look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as
one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as
one that is in bitterness for his firstborn." Read on to verses 11-14.
