1) What does Paul mean when he says we
are "released from the law"?

Paul explains that believers are
released from the law because they have
died to it through Christ. This allows
them to serve in the new way of the
Spirit, not in the old way of the
written code.

2) What does Romans 7 say about the
struggle with sin?

Romans 7 describes an internal struggle
where the believer desires to do good,
but evil is present within them. The law
reveals sin, and the believer struggles
with the sinful nature that still
resides in their flesh.

3) Why does Paul call the law "holy,
righteous, and good"?

Paul calls the law "holy, righteous, and
good" because it reveals God's standards
and exposes sin. However, the law cannot
save; it can only show how far short
humans fall of God's holiness.

4) What is the purpose of the law
according to Romans 7?

The law serves to reveal sin and make it
utterly sinful by showing how humans
fall short of God's commands. It brings
awareness of the need for a Savior.

5) How does Romans 7 set the stage for
understanding salvation in Christ?

Romans 7 shows the hopelessness of
trying to achieve righteousness through
the law. It highlights the need for
Christ's salvation and the indwelling
Spirit to live a life pleasing to God,
pointing us forward in hope to the time
when Christ will deliver us from the
presence of our sin nature in glory
(Romans 8).

Have you heard the good news Christ died
for our sins (†), and God raised Him
from the dead?

That Christ died for our sins shows
we're sinners who deserve the death
penalty. That God raised Him from the
dead shows Christ's death satisfied
God's righteous demands against our sin
(Romans 3:25; 1 John 2:1-2). This means
God can now remain just, while forgiving
you of your sins, and saving you from
eternal damnation.

On the basis of Christ's death and
resurrection for our sins, call on
the name of the Lord to save you:
"For "everyone who calls on the name
of the Lord will be saved."" (Romans
10:13, ESV)

He fulfilled the law and disannulled it as well.
Being Born Again of the Father, gives then a new divine nature, and we are
told to walk in it, “walk in the spirit” while renewing the mind. We are
under a newer and better covenant.

Walking in the law written in stone and script, was with the mind and
followed up by actions of works.

It was not written for, or held against non-Jews. A point few point out.

Which I have never denied and have
stated repeatedly.

1) Jesus summarized the Law as the
obligation to love God and your
neighbor:

“Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love
the LORD your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your
mind.’ This is the first and great
commandment. And the second is like it:
‘You shall love your neighbor as
yourself.’ On these two commandments
hang all the Law and the Prophets.””
(Matthew 22:37–40, NKJV)

3) Paul wrote to both Jews and Gentiles
in Romans, and said they are still
obligated to fulfill the law through
love:

“Owe no one anything except to love one
another, for he who loves another has
fulfilled the law. For the commandments,
“You shall not commit adultery,” “You
shall not murder,” “You shall not
steal,” “You shall not bear false
witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if
there is any other commandment, are all
summed up in this saying, namely, “You
shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Love does no harm to a neighbor;
therefore love is the fulfillment of the
law.” (Romans 13:8–10, NKJV)

Just because we do not attain
righteousness through the law, but
through faith in Christ alone, does not
mean we are dismissed from our
obligation to love God and our neighbor.
The Law of loving God and our neighbor
still very much applies to gentile
believers today.

They are both wrong, of course.

If you are born again you are a new creature and don't need to be told
to walk in what you are.

Unless they are transformed they will always see the bible as something
that it is not, through a sinner's eyes, and those eyes are blind.

Rom_12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by
the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Notice it does not say "keep on transforming." Why do you suppose that
is? You can let me know. Do you see you have to be "transformed" to know
the good, acceptable, perfect will of God?

Like was said, "Unless they are transformed they will always see the
bible as something that it is not, through a sinner's eyes, and those
eyes are blind."

God is God in all His Being. All the glory is His, for He is all glory.

Jesus is the everlasting Father, Jesus is God, Jesus is the Lord. John
10:30  I and Father are one. If you can't see that the Lord Jesus is the
everlasting Father you are not born again and can't see the Kingdom of God.

Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were
YET sinners, Christ died for us.

Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it
is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Psalms 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt
are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that
hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

an ignorant straw man."

Tell that to God, who told the disciples to teach others that they must walk
in the spirit.

You are an example of those who try to teach others that the Word of God is
unnecessary for the believer, yet you conflict often with it. One is to
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be
ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2Ti 2:15)

“But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more
ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus
and Philetus;” (2Ti 2:16-17)

And that word applies today the same as it did then.

It does say, "the renewing of your mind” which is an ongoing action for one
is not completed when Born Again, as they are “babes in Christ” as Paul
speaks about and complains also that some are still babes a few years later
when they should have matured. Dwelling in faith, and the power of His Holy
Spirit.

Only a reprobate would declare themselves correct and Gods word is not
necessary, and even incorrect based on their personal quips.

Robert hasn't got a clue.

And isn't it obvious!

That is what happens to a man who seeks to establish his own
righteousness and none worse than the man with a bible in his hand.

Keep that in mind.

the Bible is the Word of God, and should be in the hearts of those that
follow Jesus the Christ.
For out of the heart man speaks.

“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart;
and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders,
adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the
things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a
man.” (Mat 15:18-20)

And when the Word of God says that everyone
working on the Sabbath should be executed all
Christians should obey.

"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day
shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD .
Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."

That was in the theocracy of ancient Israel.

Since you know full well we are not under
that theocracy, you deliberately lied. You
may repent and apologize -OR- face your
destiny.

Mitchy is not interested in the truth, silly. His efforts are to try and
weasel out from under it.

God's desire is for His law of love to rule in
our hearts through a change in our nature.

You may be "born again" and a partaker of
the "divine nature".

You may have full Salvation through the
merits of Jesus. His love for you is vast,
infinite and unconditional.

In the Old Testament, though, he had a lot of laws beside the "law of
love."

I really don't need that from him.

They matter for the health and happiness of
those who choose to follow the way of life.

There are principles of health and hygiene
in the Levitcal code which have universal
application.

You are free to choose whatever you want.

But this life is very short; and if you are at
all interested in Salvation, you must accept
and follow Jesus.

So a theocracy is almost completely necessary, in your view. So again
I'll ask you again: why we aren't under a theocracy now?

Stoning rapists and their victims to death is part of universal
hygiene?

You may believe whatever you want about leprechauns hiding a pot of
gold at the end of the rainbow.

You must accept that leprechauns are real if you want any hope of
sharing in that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Perhaps you'd be happier under the Taliban.

But you just said God creates theocracies to achieve well-being and
happiness among his people. Why is that not necessary?

What was the difference between ancient Israel's theocracy and the
Taliban's theocracy?

You will find out on Judgment Day.

"For we must all appear before the
judgment seat of Christ, that each
one may receive the things done in
the body, according to what he has
done, whether good or bad."

It doesn't have to be a legal code,

Christians love the Ten Commandments,
they just don't want to obey them.

There are different types of laws in the Bible.

1. Moral Laws: These are direct commands from God that define right and
wrong behavior. The Ten Commandments are moral laws (Exodus 20:1-17).
These laws reveal God's nature and will and are timeless and universal.
They are also the divine standard in the Judgment. They define what sin
is.. This is why we need a Savior, Jesus,.since we have all sinned.

2. Ceremonial Laws: These laws pertained to Israel's worship practices
and rituals. They included instructions on sacrifices, festivals, and other
religious ceremonies (Leviticus 1:1-13). These laws were shadows that
pointed forward to Jesus, the substance of the shadow, and are no longer
to be kept because they were fulfilled in Him..

3. Civil Laws: These laws governed the daily life of the Israelites, covering
aspects like property rights, marriage, and justice (Deuteronomy 24:10-11).
While these laws were specific to the theocracy of ancient Israel, the
principles behind them were universal and can still guide ethical conduct
today..

4. Health laws.

It is the purpose of God in the new covenant to write His laws
on our hearts and minds.(Hebrews 8:10, Jeremiah 31':31-33).

The theocracy of ancient Israel is a fact of sacred history.
It began during the leadership of Moses and continued
until the time of the monarchy. IIRC.

So the laws laid down in Exodus are
timeless and universal, not "just for the
theocracy of ancient Israel".

"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day
shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD .
Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."
Exodus 35:2.

True of the Moral Law. Ceremonial laws which pointed
forward to Jesus and His sacrifice for us...have expired.

That was civil enforcement during the theocracy of
ancient Israel.

Not according to Moses.

Or God.

Or Jesus.

Just you.

The moral law that God wrote on stone is timeless and
universal. To rightly understand it one needs to look at
the life and teachings of Jesus.

We have a Savior. We may have salvation; life eternal
in His awesome and wonderful kingdom of glory.

If Jesus cas save Alice Cooper, then for sure He can
save Mitchell Holman. To reject Jesus is to reject
life, and to have chosen death..

It was in fact Jesus (pre-incarnate) who wrote them on
the tablets of stone and gave them to Moses for to give
to us. That's what the Bible says.

And when Jesus was here. He explained how they were
to be in our hearts, rather than to be mere legalistic type
requirements (Matthew chapter 5). Or shall I say, to be
far _more_ than mere legalistic requirements.

> Dang, haven't you read your Bible at all?

I do. In the Bible we learn about what's going on
here in this realm, and positive hope for the next.

We do have a Savior. We may have salvation..life
eternal in His awesome and wonderful kingdom
of glory.

If Jesus can save Alice Cooper, then for sure He
can save Mitchell Holman. To reject Jesus is to
reject life, and to have chosen death..

Wrong.

When God finished speaking to Moses
on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two
stone tablets of the agreement. God
had written on the stones with his
finger.
Exodus 31:18

Seriously, haven't you read
the Bible at all?

Yes, thank you. One important fact to
bring in at this point. The God in your
above_was_the pre-incarnate Jesus!

you're the one who hasen't read it.

So you lied about what the Bible
says about the Ten Commandments.

Then why have you 'not' ever done so?

Please!

Also, if Jesus can save Alice Cooper,
then for sure He can save Mitchell
Holman. To reject Jesus is to reject
life, and to choose death..

Yes the Ten Commandments were
written on the tablets of stone by
the living God.

"with His finger" as you say.

Super laser engraving - by God.

Amen, and amen.

Your claim, above.

"It was in fact Jesus (pre-incarnate) who wrote them on
the tablets of stone and gave them to Moses for to give
to us. That's what the Bible says".

This is the problem arguing with
Christians. They believe in the Bible,
they just don't read it.

And not by Jesus, as you claimed.

That is what the Bible actually says.

This is God saying to Moses that His
name is "I AM":

“Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I
come to the children of Israel and say
to them, ‘The God of your fathers has
sent me to you,’ and they say to me,
‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to
them?” And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO
I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say
to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has
sent me to you.’ ”” (Exodus 3:13–14,
NKJV)

This is Jesus stating that before
Abraham was, "I AM":

“Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I
say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
Then they took up stones to throw at
Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out
of the temple, going through the midst
of them, and so passed by.” (John
8:58–59, NKJV)

The Jews picked up stones to throw at
Jesus when He claimed this, indicating
they understood He was claiming to be
God. See for comparison:

“Then the Jews took up stones again to
stone Him. Jesus answered them, “Many
good works I have shown you from My
Father. For which of those works do you
stone Me?” The Jews answered Him,
saying, “For a good work we do not stone
You, but for blasphemy, and because You,
being a Man, make Yourself God.”” (John
10:31–33, NKJV)

Have you heard the good news Christ died
for our sins (†), and God raised Him
from the dead?

That Christ died for our sins shows
we're sinners who deserve the death
penalty. That God raised Him from the
dead shows Christ's death satisfied
God's righteous demands against our sin
(Romans 3:25; 1 John 2:1-2). This means
God can now remain just, while forgiving
you of your sins, and saving you from
eternal damnation.

On the basis of Christ's death and
resurrection for our sins, call on

"For "everyone who calls on the name
of the Lord will be saved."" (Romans

Jesus existed long before His birth in Bethlehem.

He said,

"before Abraham was, I AM!" John 8:58

Jesus is using the name of God that was given
to Moses to express the eternal presence. Ex 3:14

Jesus is the "I AM" God...~INCARNATE~.

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and
shall bring forth a son, and they shall call
his name Emmanuel, which is, God with
us." ~ Matthew 1:23

I AM means an eternal presence; the past,
present, and future are alike with God. He
sees the most remote events of past history
and the far distant future with as clear
vision as we do those things which are
transpiring daily.

Jesus summarized the Law as the command
to love God and your neighbor (Matthew
22:37-40). Paul shows that love is the
fulfillment of the Law, and directly
applies love as an obligation for
church-age believers (Romans 13:8-10).

“On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” (Mat
22:40)
Those were the foundations of the Mosaic LAW. They were not the summary of
the law.
The law was wrapped up in them.

Jesus was the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law.

Luk 24:44-49

44 And he said unto them, These arethe words which I spake unto you, while I
was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in
the law of Moses, and inthe prophets, andinthe psalms, concerning me.

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the
scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to
suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name
among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48And ye are witnesses of these things.

49And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the
city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

“For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the
weakness and unprofitableness thereof. For the law made nothing perfect, but
the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.”

This is why you need to let the epistles
interpret the gospels, instead of trying
to free-lance it.

“For the commandments, “You shall not
commit adultery,” “You shall not
murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You
shall not bear false witness,” “You
shall not covet,” and if there is any
other commandment, are ALL SUMMED UP in
this saying, namely, “You shall LOVE
your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no
harm to a neighbor; therefore LOVE IS
THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW.” (Romans
13:9–10, NKJV, emphasis mine)

Note the exact words used here about the
Law. The law is:

1) "ALL SUMMED UP in this
saying...love...(emphasis mine)"

and

2) "LOVE IS THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW"
(emphasis mine).

So yes, I used the exact words of
Scripture, as provided in Paul's
inspired interpretation of the gospels,
and those are the words he used to
describe them. They are therefore
correct words and phrases to use, even
if other correct wording could be used.

Is the law "SUMMED UP" (emphasis mine)
in the command to love? Yes, Scripture
says it is.

Is love "THE FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW"
(emphasis mine)? yes, Scripture says it
is.

So listen to me, Diotrephes. Don't come
in here like a troll every day of your
life, and make an ass of yourself in a
way that hinders others from being
edified, by pretending like you bring
distinction and correction to the table,
while you actually just throw shade and
confusion on the very words the Bible
itself uses to explain the law as it
relates to believers.

>Jesus was the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law.

Of course. And "God is love". And Jesus
is God. And therefore Paul was correct
when he said, "love is the fulfillment
of the law". There isn't one correct way
to phrase everything, you are not the
one who decides what that one correct
phrasing is, nor do you have a patent on
the truth, which requires that you are
the only one allowed to make a correct
observation about what the Bible says or
means.

So please, take my advice, and go troll
off, Diotrephes!

Sorry, but you got me ROTFLOL with that last remark.
You got the tail wagging the dog, with your understandings.

You cannot fulfill love by focusing on the law, the ordinances, and doing
your best in following the Law, for none of those things will give you a
heart of Love.

However, if a person has a heart of Love, then by their nature they will do
things naturally that the Law commands those that follow it, do. A loving
heart just cannot see to do things that offends the act of Love.

A loving heart will love their brother, even if he is a loser.
Jesus operated out of love.

Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the
fulfilling of the law.

Love is not the fulfillment of the Law, the actions and works of Love but its
very nature fulfills ALL the Law.

Because the Law brings sin and death.

Again, IOW you can do all the law and not have a heart of Love. So the Law
cannot generate Love.

Consider the state of your heart, while posting that rant. ;)

It is in the Ten Commandments.

Or are those "just old Jewish laws" as well?

So the Word of God doesn't count any more?

That was for the Jews under the law covenant. Believers following Jesus the
Christ are under a new covenant, whether they be Jew or Christian.

Show us the quote.

Oh that's right, you can't,
because Jesus didn't say ANYTHING
in Corinthians.

Read it for youself, all scripture comes from God, just like in Isaiah 28:18

Jhn 8:28-29

28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then
shall ye know that I am he,and thatI do nothing of myself; but as my Father
hath taught me, I speak these things.

29And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do
always those things that please him.

For all those years in a bible college and still you learned nothing. :(

Nothing in there about nullifying
God's laws in Exodus.

You are the one who communicates
with God regularly, ask Him for the
Bible passage that backs up your claim.

"I know the Lord, I know the reality
of Him, He communicates with me and
me with him, just like many other
people who walk by Faith."

Whooshed right over your head, it did. You complained about the word speaking
of disannulling the Law of Sin and Death, and all those words came from the
same source as did the Words that Jesus spoke.

I have pointed out the scriptures to you numerous times, and a couple of
those times were extensive. If you cannot remember, then what is the point of
refreshing your mind? You either choose to dismiss the info, which if I
remember correctly you say that you have done if you consider it irrelevant
or you have dementia, to similar.

This is not meant to slight you, but just to point out the reasons for not
carrying a conversation with you. Of course there is another option, that
being you are a straight up troll, and any attention given you makes you feel
good.

I already have the info, and the understanding. He showed it to me many years
ago.

That is true. Like many others. I am not special.

You too can have that type of a relationship with him, his door is still open
at this time, stop with blaming your door in His Face and he will deliver you
should you ask.

Read the notestream.

My post was about one passage, Exodus 35:2,
where God mandates death for working on the
Sabbath. That is it.

Show us where Jesus said that was
nullified or replaced, as you claimed.

That is just you parading your biblical ignorance, Mitchy. It stands out
like dog's balls. You are like a row boat taking part in a speed boat race.

What you should have said is, "Should be in?" "How can one be a follower
and it not be in their hearts?"

Oh, those sinner Christians and their compromising religion! Umm, that
bit is for me. :-).

"Compromise will condemn you." And that goes for them and you.

Oh, shut up.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the Word of God, you wanker, not your bible
religion interpretations (e.g., Sheriff shit self-glorying, self-raising
flour puff doctrines).

"The veil of the temple was rent in twain, not to have a book pass
through it so that a sinner could play God."

The veil of the temple was not rent in twain to make you fact, reality,
and truth, Buddy!

:-). Still trying to rid yourself of your guilt on your neighbour! Don't
bother.

You blind guide. Your heart is riddled with deceit, and it drains out
your mouth like a sewer, Robert Religion, and so with ChristRose's. You
are both blind guides.

The Lord spoke to me last night about you crew of pretenders, Snakey.
There'll be no slithering in the new garden for you and your kind!

I am going to post it when I get a moment. It is about you (the fallen
man)—the type of you you don't want to see or hear about.

But Job had the balls.

Exciting. Many times when I wake during the night, I lay there before I
go back to sleep and ask the Lord for any revelation He might have
floating around. :-). This is one of those times He does—like last
night. :-).

Psa 119:99  I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy
testimonies are my meditation.

That prophecy over my life has certainly come true over and over again
(including right now), but that Psalm of a giving God is not for just
me; it is for every man who was prepared to face the fear of who and
what he really was.

It looks like Job is at the beginning of that particular predicted post.
:-). Here is my response to your post in advance if you decide to post
your rubbish: "Shut up, you blind "self is God" guide."

Sorry, McChrist, he's right. You're wrong.

The voices in your head do not supercede the bible.

(Nature does. But that's another conversation.)

I never liked the Romans. Bloody Italians killed Jesus and then they gave
us the Mafia, Benito Mussolini and really crappy Tomato sauce on
everything, especially the noodles Marco Polo stole from the Chinese.

Sure the Romans built roads, but I've never met a rightist Christian who
liked wasting taxpayer money on infrastructer when there's always tax cuts
for the wealthy.
